Hiking Ungilsan Mountain: Bird Poop Luck, Highballs, and Stunning Views

I had really wanted to go to Juwangsan Mountain, but it was closed due to national park restrictions.
So, I was wondering where to go instead. I searched for a place with beautiful scenery and not too difficult a climb and decided on Ungilsan Mountain.
It's about a two-hour drive from my house to Ungilsan Station.
The weather was hot and humid, and I sweated more than ever before.
While climbing the mountain... *thwack*... bird poop landed on my head.
It's the second time I've been hit by bird poop! Haha. The hiking buddies I was with said it was a sign of good luck and told me to make a wish. Heh.
The mountain path was hot, hot, hot, and humid.
Maybe because of the rain, there were a lot of gnats, and it was so hot at that moment.

My friend gave me non-alcoholic beer and I was revived.
It rained on and off, and near the summit, we had a snack time on a picnic table.
Then, my friend, a highball expert, made me a highball, and I felt great. Heh.
There weren't many signs, so I kept wondering if we were on the right path.
Then we reached the summit...
After passing a rocky path, we arrived at Sujongsa Temple.
I've been to this place by car several times, but this was my first time hiking here. Amazing! Lol.
The view overlooking the Namhan River was stunning.
Sujongsa Temple, where King Sejo is said to have stopped briefly on his way back from Sangwonsa Temple on Odaesan Mountain.
There's also a large ginkgo tree.

Eel is famous in this area. Heh.
So, we went for eel!
Then, back home...
Another mountain conquered today.
I wondered why it was so hard.
Turns out we started from the bottom... Ugh. Haha.
Let's have fun during the holidays!
