보라매공원

Escape the sweltering city heat and immerse yourself in nature at Borame Park, the representative green space of southwestern Seoul. Formerly the site of the Air Force Academy, this park now serves as a vast "urban aquarium" of fresh air and greenery. This year, the park is even more special as it hosts the prestigious 10th Seoul International Garden Show.
Designed with universal accessibility in mind, Borame Park features flat walking tracks, spacious lawns, and barrier-free facilities that allow everyone—including wheelchair and stroller users—to enjoy its seasonal beauty. Whether you're visiting for an evening stroll through illuminated gardens or a weekend family picnic, this park offers the perfect blend of relaxation, exercise, and cultural inspiration.
Where History Meets Nature: Borame Park Overview
A Barrier-Free Oasis for All Citizens
Named after 'Borame' (young hawk), the symbol of the Air Force, the park has been a beloved citizen retreat since 1986. The main entrance and major routes are mostly flat, making it exceptionally easy to navigate. A highlight is the flat rubberized track, perfect for those who want to maintain their walking or running routine even in the summer heat.
To keep cool, visitors can enjoy various water facilities including a floor fountain, a music fountain, and a dedicated water playground for children. The park's well-maintained forests provide ample shade, equipped with chairs and table-type benches ideal for a quiet moment of contemplation or a shared outdoor lunch.

111 Gardens to Inspire Your Daily Life
From May 22 to October 20, 2025, Borame Park transforms into a massive open-air gallery. The show features 111 unique gardens, ranging from high-concept "Artist Gardens" to "Companion Gardens" created by local students and citizens. Each garden tells a different story, turning the park's landscape into a philosophical journey through nature.
Visitors can participate in the Garden Stamp Tour to earn benefits or attend guided tours and talk shows. For a perfect memory, don't miss the chance to take a photo with the giant Hechi (Seoul's mascot) located on the central lawn. During the peak summer months (July–August), the show extends its hours until 21:00, allowing you to enjoy the displays in the refreshing evening breeze.
Universal Tourism and Convenience Facilities
Borame Park is a leader in inclusive design. The main entrance features Braille blocks and information boards for the visually impaired. Accessible restrooms are conveniently located throughout the West and South cultural sections, featuring automatic doors and help bells. Families with young children can take advantage of stroller rentals at the Management Office and a dedicated nursing room in the Eastern Park Greenery Office.
