Good evening on a summer night!

The rainy season has ended, and extreme heat has arrived.

Late into the night, the temperature remains high, continuing the 'tropical night' phenomenon.

As we toss and turn in the heat, the quality of our sleep can deteriorate.

To escape the scorching sun during the day, how about a night walk after sunset to beat the tropical nights?

Haengju Fortress offers night openings every second and fourth Saturday from March 15 to October.

Experience a night walk enjoying the stunning night view and the breeze from the Han River!

Haengju Fortress is located at 26-1, Haengjudae-dong, Deogyang-gu, Goyang-si.

Operating Hours: 9 AM to 6 PM (5 PM during winter).

Visitor Duration: 1 to 1.5 hours.

Regular Closed Days: Every Monday.

Admission Fee: Free.

Night Opening Days: Every second and fourth Saturday from March to October (6 PM to 10 PM).

During the fourth weekend of July, when the extreme heat began, I visited Haengju Fortress.

Many people were enjoying summer night walks during my two-hour stay.

The night opening lasts from 6 PM to 10 PM, with the last entry at 9 PM.

The path from Daecheopmun to the Haengju Battle Monument and the Daecheop Memorial Hall is open.

As I arrived at 6:30 PM, the usually closed Daecheopmun gate was wide open, welcoming visitors.

The fortress, built on the slopes of Deogyang Mountain, offers a refreshing breeze and a stunning view of the Han River.

The Haengju Battle, one of the three great battles of the Imjin War, is commemorated here.

You can explore various sites, including Chungjangsa, the Daecheop Memorial Hall, and the Haengju Battle Monument.

For mosquito protection, insect repellent is recommended.

At the end of July, sunset in Goyang City is around 7:45 PM.

As August approaches, the days are getting shorter by a minute each day.

Arriving at 6:30 PM, I took a leisurely walk, and the sunset painted the sky through the lush trees.

If you arrive around 7 PM, you can enjoy both the sunset and the night view at the same time.

Passing through Chungjangsa, where General Kwon Yul's spirit tablet is enshrined, leads to the fork towards the fortress and the memorial hall.

The night view at Haengju Fortress is most spectacular along the paths leading to Deogyangjeong, the Haengju Battle Monument, and the Han River, where visitors gather to enjoy the scenery.

The night opening at Haengju Fortress runs from March to October, every second and fourth Saturday.

Thank you for visiting!
