Everywhere I walked, pink popcorn bursts of cherry blossoms made me smile effortlessly. This weekend, where did you go to enjoy the flowers?

To fully savor this fleeting spring, I headed to the cherry blossom path along the Jochon River in Jochiwon.

With an endless cherry blossom tunnel, charming photo spots that make you stop in your tracks, and a viewpoint offering a panoramic view of all this beauty, I was thrilled to visit at the perfect time when the blossoms were in full bloom.

I utilized a temporary parking lot, and thanks to the police managing the busy roads during the Sejong Cherry Blossom Festival, parking was not a hassle.

I can't even count how many weather forecasts I checked to capture the perfect moment with the cherry blossoms. Although I have lived in Sejong for quite a while, this was my first time walking along the Jochon River cherry blossom path. I felt a pleasant regret for not coming sooner to see such a beautiful cherry blossom tunnel.

The moment I stepped onto the cherry blossom path, I couldn't help but exclaim in awe. As of April 5, 2026, the blossoms were about 80% in bloom, showcasing the freshest and most beautiful moment heading towards full bloom.

Despite some rain in the forecast this week, the buds are still fresh and firm, meaning you should have plenty of time to enjoy them this weekend.

The blue sky, gently flowing waters of the Jochon River, and the profusely blooming cherry blossoms created a picturesque scene at every moment. I am already looking forward to the flower rain that will fall when they reach 100% bloom in a few days.

This weekend, with the Sejong Cherry Blossom Festival taking place, the area around the Jochon River was filled with even more sights and activities. The festive atmosphere attracted many visitors, but the wide and well-maintained walking paths made it easy for families to stroll leisurely, even with strollers.

Along the path, there were delightful and beautifully arranged photo spots that made the outing even more enjoyable. Thanks to the cherry blossom trees dressed in pink and various themed photo zones, it was the perfect setting to capture unforgettable moments with family, friends, or loved ones.

The highlight of my spring outing was undoubtedly the 'Jochon River Cherry Blossom Path Viewpoint.' While strolling beneath the cherry blossom tunnel is romantic, standing on the viewpoint deck allowed me to take in the beautiful scenery below, making me linger and soak in the beauty of spring.

The cherry trees we are walking among were planted along the Jochon embankment around 1986. As of 2026, the cherry trees are about 40 years old, sturdy and thick, thanks to years of growth that have resulted in the lush cherry blossom tunnel we see today.

Cherry blossoms embody not only their stunning appearance but also meanings of 'inner beauty' and 'beauty of the spirit.' Although they bloom briefly and fade away, the beautiful energy they bring will linger in our hearts for a long time.

This spring outing in Sejong was perfect, with everything from the cherry blossom tunnel right outside my home to the stunning views. Soon, when the spring breeze blows, the white cherry blossoms will scatter like a romantic snow. If you haven’t fully enjoyed this beautiful spring yet, I highly recommend you visit the Jochon River cherry blossom path and viewpoint in Sejong before the blossoms fade away. Create an unforgettable day painted in pink with your loved ones!
