#1. Bongdong Town – Cherry Blossom Drive to Dunsan-ri
Many of you probably commute from Bongdong Town towards Dunsan-ri, right? It's a route I take quite often too. There are also many who travel towards Iksan or the highway!
Imagine a special cherry blossom drive along your daily route. Doesn’t that sound delightful?
Starting from the Bongdong Administrative Welfare Center, you can enjoy about 5 kilometers of cherry blossoms leading to the entrance of Dunsan-ri. Watching the rows of cherry trees bloom can transform a mundane commute into a euphoric experience, making the journey feel less tedious.
If you missed the cherry blossom drive on your morning commute, don’t worry! You can still enjoy a beautiful cherry blossom drive on your way home.
#2. Bongdong Town – Cherry Blossom Drive towards Samnye
The road towards Jeonju offers a perfect opportunity to catch some cherry blossoms while commuting to Samnye. This section of Local Road 799 is lined with cherry trees, most of which are estimated to be over 20 years old, planted during the early 2000s.
As you drive through, it feels like passing through a cherry blossom tunnel, creating a breathtaking experience.
# Bongdong Sangjanggi Park – Cherry Blossom Route on Gosancheon Road
We have a cherry blossom hotspot where we take photos with our kids every year. The narrower road towards Gosancheon creates a lovely tunnel of cherry trees, making it a joyful experience to see the blossoms while heading to school.
Walking along the path with the white and pink waves of blossoms after a long winter brings a sense of spring that makes everyone hum a tune.
Interestingly, the cherry blossoms along this road bloom slightly later than those in Bongdong Town, allowing for a longer viewing period.
Gosancheon’s walking path is also a wonderful place to enjoy cherry blossoms while taking a stroll.
# Cherry Blossom Walk around Bongdong Ginger Valley Park
This is a cherry blossom walking path where my kids used to ride their scooters during the evening twilight. As cherry blossoms burst open like popcorn, passersby often stop to take photos.
Parks golfers at Ginger Valley Park can enjoy the blossoms while walking, making it a perfect spot for exercise and enjoyment.
I highly recommend an evening walk. The park lights reflecting on the white cherry blossoms create a serene night view. The lovely memories with my children linger in my heart, making this a place we return to every year.
