Buying Ear Infection and Altitude Sickness Medication at Incheon International Airport

Hello, I’m Tamin, a traveling mom who flies more than three times a year and often suffers from severe ear pain after landing.
To avoid repeating that painful experience, I purchased ear infection and altitude sickness medication at the pharmacy in Incheon Airport Terminal 2.
This post shares my real experience, from where to find the pharmacy to how the medication worked during my flight.
Finding the Pharmacy at Incheon Airport Terminal 2
The pharmacy I visited is called Skypharm, located on the 3rd floor of the general area before immigration.
It sits conveniently between check-in counters D and E, right after finishing luggage check-in, so it’s easy to stop by even when time feels tight.
Why I Bought Ear Infection and Altitude Sickness Medication
I was heading to Switzerland and planned to buy altitude sickness medication for high-altitude travel.
Interestingly, the pharmacist explained that the ear infection medication works on the same principle as altitude sickness medication.
Hearing that made the decision easy, especially since ear pain after flights has always been my biggest concern.
Price, Package Contents, and Dosage Instructions
The medication comes as a set containing three different types, including liquid doses and pills.
Each package costs 11,000 won, which felt reasonable considering the relief it promised.
I was advised to take one dose 30 minutes before takeoff and another about six hours before landing.
For altitude sickness, the instruction was to take it 30 minutes before ascending.
My Honest Experience Using the Medication
To be honest, I didn’t feel much pain during takeoff, so I briefly thought about skipping the medication.
However, the pharmacist strongly insisted that I take it, so I followed the advice.
I took two liquid doses and two pills as instructed.
How It Felt Before and After Landing
Before landing, I noticed a clear difference compared to previous flights.
There was still slight discomfort, but it was significantly less than usual.
Normally, I experience ringing in my ears for hours after landing, but this time that lingering sensation was completely gone.
Final Thoughts and Travel Tip for Switzerland
This experience convinced me that I’ll definitely buy ear infection medication again for my next flight.
If you’re traveling to Jungfrau in Switzerland or planning any high-altitude destinations, make sure to bring altitude sickness medication in advance.
I’ll be back soon with more travel tips and personal experiences to share.
