Hello!

In the busy flow of life, when was the last time you paused to look deeply into your heart?

The Pungdong Library in Goyang City has launched a very special program aimed at comforting the weary hearts of modern individuals and sharing warmth.

For those in need of a moment of respite, we present the "School of Comfort".

This program, selected as a project by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, focuses on healing through psychology and art.

From the moment I first heard the title "School of Comfort," I felt a warmth in my heart and was immediately drawn to it.

With great anticipation, I attended the first class to see what kind of healing moments would be created by the meeting of psychology and art.

The first class began with a warm cup of tea and a lovely gift.

Even though I arrived just five minutes before the lecture started, many citizens had already filled the classroom.

The table was adorned with warm tea that melts even the coldest hearts and a beautiful pen as a welcome gift, making me feel welcomed from the moment I entered.

One of the instructors shared a poignant thought: "Comfort is received from those beside us. We cannot do it alone; we need someone there." This resonated deeply with me.

Citizens of various ages and backgrounds gathered to share warmth, marking the 'first step' in their journey of comfort.

In reflecting on the busy lives of modern individuals, we watched a video of 'mice' running around aimlessly, which felt like a portrait of our contemporary lives.

When invisible hearts struggle and tire, modern individuals often resort to temporary means like shopping or drinking to cope.

During the session titled 'Pause & Transition,' we shared stories about ourselves using photo cards, selecting a favorite image and discussing why we chose it and how we wish to contribute to the group over the next three months.

Listening to each other's sincere stories made me curious about what our '12th session' would look like.

The instructor's remark that "pausing might be the winter of my life" led me to contemplate deeply.

Through the 'Traffic Light Game,' we explored self-reflection. When the instructor called out 'green light,' we walked freely around the room; 'yellow light' encouraged us to dance without worrying about others; and 'red light' prompted us to stop and quietly reflect on ourselves.

In this repeated game, I finally saw the small parts of myself that I had overlooked, and it moved me.

In the second half of the class, we enjoyed a picture book titled "The Colorful Guest", which illustrated how a lonely grandmother's life transformed with the arrival of a stranger, filling her gray room with vibrant colors and hope.

We learned how true connection and communication with others can change our lives.

Through the 12 sessions of the 'School of Comfort,' we will become warm support for each other and learn to love ourselves deeply.

Thank you.
