A Special Lunch at Fraser Place Namdaemun

To celebrate our wedding anniversary, we wanted to enjoy a lunch in a special atmosphere rather than an ordinary meal.
We decided to visit the Panorama Lounge & Bar located on the top floor of the four-star Fraser Place Namdaemun, famous for its view of Namdaemun, near Seoul City Hall.
Perched on the highest floor of the hotel, it offers a stunning view of the cityscape surrounding Namdaemun. Despite being in the middle of the city, the atmosphere here is calm and relaxed, making it an ideal spot for anniversaries, dates, or special occasions.
Fraser Place Namdaemun is also well-known as a luxurious staycation spot in downtown Seoul, making it a great location for planning a visit to the city. It is conveniently close to Seoul Station and has an airport bus stop right in front of the hotel, making it easy to access via public transport. We noticed a diverse range of guests, including international tourists, business travelers, couples, and families.
The location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk from Exit 7 of City Hall Station on Line 1 and 2, and about a 7-minute walk from Exit 5 of Hoehyeon Station on Line 4, making it a great meeting point.
Address: Fraser Place Namdaemun, 16F, 58 Sejong-daero, Jung-gu, Seoul.
Business Hours: Weekdays 11:30 AM - 1:00 AM, Saturdays 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Closed on Sundays and Public Holidays.
During lunch hours, a light lunch table menu is available, and after work, happy hour offers a perfect opportunity to enjoy a glass of wine or cocktails.
As we arrived, we noticed many international guests in the lobby, contributing to the hotel’s cosmopolitan atmosphere, which is well-suited for long stays and business trips.
One of the great advantages of the Panorama Lounge & Bar is its exclusive elevator, which takes you directly to the 16th floor. When we visited, someone mistakenly took the wrong elevator and ended up on our floor, leading to a shared laugh.
Upon arriving on the 16th floor, the Panorama Lounge is on the left, while the fitness center is on the right. There were quite a few people working out, which was impressive to see, especially in a hotel setting.
The lounge is perfect for enjoying a relaxed meal in a pleasant hotel atmosphere, and we noticed other guests conducting business meetings quietly at nearby tables.
The ambiance strikes a balance between casual and formal, making it a suitable place for various occasions, from family gatherings to business meetings.
As soon as we sat down, the view of Namdaemun was right in front of us, and the expansive sight of Seoul Station in the background was breathtaking. The cityscape looked completely different from above, making it a truly unique experience.
The food was delightful, starting with a pre-meal salad to prevent blood sugar spikes. The pumpkin soup was incredibly smooth and delicious, reminiscent of home.
We ordered the scallop rosé pasta, which was visually appealing and not too heavy, making it perfect for lunch. The scallops were fresh and added a delightful texture to the dish.
The signature burger, served with fries, was another highlight. The thick patty was packed with flavor, and the caramelized onions added a sweet touch that perfectly complemented the meat.
For dessert, we enjoyed a refreshing fruit platter with grapefruit, shine muscat grapes, and pineapple. It was beautifully presented and a perfect end to our meal.
The coffee was smooth and rich, enhancing our overall dining experience.
After lunch, we took a leisurely stroll around the nearby Deoksugung Palace, making it a perfect day in the heart of Seoul.
