A Night Out with Couples in Jongno: Food, Friends, and City Strolls

It's a gathering of four couples, all friends.
This is how we've been spending our time lately.
We make plans to meet in front of the Piccadilly Cinema in Jongno 3-ga, and even if everyone isn't there on time, once at least two couples arrive, we spontaneously pick a place that appeals to us.
Then we send a quick message saying, "Come on over!"
Having a go-to place we trust is nice, but...
There's also fun in choosing somewhere new.
Usually, we end up at a Korean BBQ restaurant...
Even though it was quite hot outside for dinnertime, it took a while for us to cool down inside the BBQ place.
And then we were facing the grill again...
First things first, a cold beer! Ahhh, so refreshing!!!
The heat washes down with it.
Korean BBQ ribs are the easiest to agree on, so the menu is quickly decided.
The staff walks around and helps grill, but...
Word has gotten out that my husband is a good cook! Haha.
So the women compete to sit next to him...
"Don't be so good at grilling!" Haha.
No matter how much they say that, I already made him promise at home, "Sit next to me."
There was talk of going to a palace after dinner, but the timing was awkward.
Since the palaces close at 9 PM, we decided to stroll along Cheonggyecheon Stream, which has no time limit.
A short walk from Jongno 3-ga, we arrived at Cheonggyecheon.
When I was studying fashion design, I used to go to Dongdaemun Market two or three times a week to prepare for class. If I felt like it, I'd also check out Gwangjang Market and Cheonggyecheon Stream on my way back...
It's been a while.
Even after sunset, the remaining heat was sticky.
There was music playing from some sort of performance upstream, but we passed on it.
I don't like anything too complicated when I'm with my friends.
A quick walk, and
Since it's hot, time for some cold draft beer!
Across from Gwangjang Market in Jongno 4-ga
We went to BHC and found a window seat on the second floor.
Relaxing and cool, it was time for some chatting.
It wasn't too late, so the subway was relatively empty.
It's worth going out to Jongno every once in a while to soak up the energy.
