A Memorable Visit to the National Children's Museum

Hello.
As February comes to a close, the hint of spring is beginning to show.
February has felt particularly busy with the winter break ending and the Lunar New Year celebrations.
If you want to spend meaningful time with your child before the winter break ends, I highly recommend the National Children's Museum.
In celebration of the winter vacation, the museum held various programs under the theme 'Sparkling New Year!'.
Among them, the special educational program for the Lunar New Year was particularly impressive.
The special program ran from February 14 to February 22,
offering two family-oriented activities: 'Meeting the Red Horse of 2026' and 'Little Yut Village'.
'Meeting the Red Horse of 2026' required advance registration through the website for sessions at 11 AM and 2 PM (each lasting 60 minutes) for a fee of 2,000 won.
If there are any remaining spots, on-site registration is available on the day.
'Little Yut Village' is available for on-site registration, operating in 30-minute intervals from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and participation is free.
I participated in 'Meeting the Red Horse of 2026' with my child.
We started with an activity called 'Finding Our Family's Red Horse', which helped create a relaxed atmosphere.
We asked questions like, “Who in our family moves the fastest like a horse?” and “Who resembles a horse the most?”
It was a fun time pointing at each other and explaining our choices, often leading to giggles from my child's unexpected answers.
Next, we learned about the twelve zodiac signs and the Red Horse.
Seeing my child focus was a proud moment for me.
This experience was not just about fun but also about learning and reflecting.
Then, we had the opportunity to create our own Red Horse calendar.
With no set template, my child was free to unleash their imagination.
They could decorate it by month, by season, or illustrate their favorite day in any way they wanted.
As we colored and drew, we naturally engaged in conversation about our family plans for the year.
This time felt like more than just crafting; it was becoming a cherished record of our family.
In celebration of the Year of the Red Horse in 2026, consider creating a special calendar with your family.
The 'Little Yut Village' program allowed participants to decorate and take home their own Yut sticks.
Being free of charge made it easy to join, and I wanted to create and play right away, but we ran out of time.
There were also traditional games like Ddakji, Ttakji, and Jegichagi available in the adjacent area.
In the lobby in front of the education room, there was a small event where we could write our New Year's wishes on Red Horse paper and hang them up.
I made sure to express my hopes for a healthy and joyful year with my child.
The museum's planned exhibitions have also been revamped since November 2025.
There is a space themed 'Curious About Feelings' where visitors can experience emotions and changes in feelings.
A day spent at the National Children's Museum became joyful memories for my child and happy recollections for me.
If you want to experience the Lunar New Year atmosphere or spend special time with your child before winter break ends, I recommend visiting.
It's a place where you can laugh, learn, and create memories with your child.
The National Children's Museum is just that.
I am already looking forward to the next program as much as I enjoyed this one.
