I recently saw a trending spot near Gyeongbokgung Palace on social media, and I was so curious about the taste that I made an excuse to go to Inwangsan Mountain and visit Muguok! Haha.

Today's initial course was a round trip: Gyeongbokgung Station > Tiger Statue > Inwangsan Summit > Gyeongbokgung Station. However, since we had more time than expected, we changed it to a slightly longer route: Gyeongbokgung Station > Tiger Statue > Inwangsan Summit > Changuimun Gate > Gyeongbokgung Station.

Exiting Gyeongbokgung Station Exit 1, I met the Tiger Statue (after getting a little lost ^^;) and diligently climbed Inwangsan Mountain! They're currently building a monorail on Inwangsan, so the construction area is blocked off, which is a bit frustrating.

The weather was cloudy and threatening to rain, but the section we were climbing was sunny. Drinking ice water to build up my energy~~!!

As I almost reached the top, it suddenly got cloudy again (a little worried about rain). On the way down, it was sunny again, so I had a safe hike without worrying about rain!

즐거운 순간

And finally!! I arrived at Muguok, which I had been waiting for. Naver said it opened at 11:30 AM, so I arrived about 10 minutes before the opening time, but people were already eating at the tables? It seems like the opening time was moved up.

We received the 37th waiting number and waited about 85 minutes. Next time, I should probably put my name on the waiting list and then go to Inwangsan Mountain????

Before the food came out, they first served us radish kimchi (깍두기) and water kimchi (물김치) made directly by Muguok. I wanted to eat it all because I was so hungry, but I'll hold back a little for the sake of the post ^^;

The stir-fried squid (오징어볶음), a side dish, also came out (gulp). And then came the tender boiled chicken (닭백숙)! :)

특별한 순간

I guess serving the soup and meat separately like this is North Korean-style chicken stew?!

Tada!

The whole table setting is complete????????

평화로운 풍경

At first, the portion seemed small, so I was like, "Eh ㅇㅅㅇ," but as I ate, I got quite full. The person I was with said it was amazing that they were full too haha.

특별한 순간

The chicken is seasoned with a salty flavor, so you don't really need to dip it in salt. Dipping it in the scallion-ginger oil enhances the flavor even more.

I heard the herbal sauce wasn't good, so I decided not to try it~

As many reviews said, the rich perilla seed powder soup was so good. If the meat gets a little cold, it's also delicious to dip it in the soup????

It's like the hardship of waiting just melts away. The luxurious taste was so good ^------^

흥미로운 이미지 신비로운 모습

Since Jongno 5-ga Station was on the way home, I visited Ace Outdoor, the mecca of outdoor gear, to prepare for my upcoming Hallasan Mountain climb.

놀라운 광경

I bought wool socks to reduce foot fatigue, but the price is outrageous???? But for the sake of completing Hallasan! I'll invest in it.

Hallasan Mountain trip with my family in two weeks. I wonder if everyone will be able to complete it without falling behind?
