Hello! Today, I'm excited to share a truly special autumn travel story with you.

We departed from Icheon at 6 AM and after a roughly 3.5-hour drive, we arrived at our destination: Seonunsa Temple in Gochang, Jeollabuk-do.

A Sea of Red: The Stunning Spider Lily Fields of Seonunsa

Seonunsa Temple is famous for its Spider Lilies (Sangsa flowers) in the fall. From the temple courtyard to the forest paths, the endless expanse of red Spider Lilies created a breathtaking spectacle.

The harmonious blend of crimson flowers shimmering in the sunlight and the verdant forest made for a picture-perfect scene, filling me with joy throughout my walk.

Photo Opportunities Galore!

Everywhere you turn along the path is a potential photo zone. While group photos were fun, I particularly loved capturing the reflection of the Spider Lilies in the water. Even a simple selfie with the flowers became a memorable shot.

Icheon to Seonunsa: Transportation & Travel Time

Departure: 6:00 AM from Icheon

Arrival: Approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes

Thanks to the well-maintained highways, the journey was smooth and comfortable. The ample parking space was also a plus.

Nature Walk & Relaxation

The area around Seonunsa Temple boasts well-maintained trails, perfect for a leisurely trek.

Bringing hiking sticks allowed me to navigate the inclines with ease. The unhurried pace and the beauty of the flowers made for a truly refreshing experience.

Peak Season for Spider Lilies: Mid to late September

Recommended Route: Seonunsa Parking Lot → Temple Courtyard → Spider Lily Fields → Pond Path

Essentials: Comfortable walking shoes, hat, sunglasses, water, camera

Arriving early allows you to avoid the crowds and take your time capturing photos.
