Experience a world where reality and digital illusion blur at the "Space of Light, Reflecting Illusions" exhibition. Held at Goyang Aram Nuri, this large-scale showcase features five distinct zones of immersive media art and cutting-edge XR technology.
This exhibition highlights selected works from the Goyang Content Commercialization Support Project, offering visitors a chance to interact with AI-based art, historical restorations, and virtual reality experiences. With free admission and parking, it is a must-visit cultural destination for families and tech enthusiasts looking for an engaging and burden-free outing in Goyang Special City.
Interaction and History: AI Streamscape and King’s Road
AI-Powered Creativity and Joseon Dynasty Panoramic Art
Upon entering Exhibition Halls 4 and 5, visitors are greeted by the AI-based Streamscape. Using provided tablets, you can input voice commands to summon animals or objects onto the massive screens, manipulating their size and movement with a simple touch. It is a highly interactive zone that turns your imagination into digital reality.
Adjacent to this is the Seooreung (Changneung), King's Road exhibition. This zone features a stunning panoramic restoration of the funeral procession for King Yejong, the 8th monarch of Joseon. The architectural grandeur of Changneung is realized through immersive media art, allowing you to walk alongside history in a vibrant, digital format.
Parallel Universes and VR Travel: Rayleigh Portal and Time Gap XR
Exploring Architectural Narratives and Virtual Selves
The Rayleigh Portal offers a conceptual journey into parallel universes, using architectural narratives to explore contemporary spaces. Following this is the Memory Museum, which blends live-action video with animation to breathe life into sentimental objects. Walking through this zone feels like traveling through outer space, leaving a deep impression on all who visit.
The final highlight is the Time Gap XR. Participants wear HMD (Head Mounted Display) equipment to traverse a virtual world. While you might start by walking on a high-altitude path in the air, the experience is safe and guided, culminating in a unique encounter with your virtual self. It is a thrilling finale to a tour that perfectly captures the future of digital content.
Practical Information and Visitor Perks
The exhibition is open until November 2nd, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (closed on Mondays). After completing the five zones, visitors can take a simple survey to participate in a roulette and raffle event, with prizes ranging from hair ties to chicken and coffee coupons. Located near the Aram Art Museum, it’s also a great opportunity to check out other nearby displays, like the upcoming Chagall exhibition.
