However, I attended a concert that made me forget the heat.
The 2026 PyeongChang Festival Orchestra performed in Goyang.
The PyeongChang Festival Orchestra serves as the resident orchestra for the PyeongChang Daegwallyeong Music Festival.
It features top-tier performers from both domestic and international stages, alongside next-generation musicians.
Since its establishment in 2004, it has become a core performing group of the festival.
After being reorganized in 2016, the orchestra has showcased high-quality performances through collaborations with renowned conductors and distinguished musicians.
In addition to the opening and closing concerts of the festival, the orchestra has toured major cities in Korea and conducted various projects, allowing audiences to enjoy high-level music not only in PyeongChang but also in other regions.
The domestic tour of the 2026 PyeongChang Festival Orchestra commenced on August 5, 2026, at the Goyang Aram Nuri Arts Center.
After Goyang, the orchestra will perform at the Pyeongtaek Art Center and Tongyeong International Music Hall.
Despite the extreme heat, many audience members attended the concert, which speaks volumes about the reputation of the PyeongChang Festival.

The Goyang Aram Nuri Arts Center is known for its reasonable prices compared to other venues in Seoul, making it a great place to enjoy music and performances.
With a total of 1,449 seats, including a spacious choir section, it is a representative performance venue in Goyang.
The conductor for this concert, Oscar Yokel, is not only a conductor but also a composer, currently serving as the assistant conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic.
His delicate conducting created soft melodies that were beautifully delivered.
The first piece, Claude Debussy's 'Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun,' evokes a dreamy atmosphere.
The addition of the harp's elegant timbre enhances the mysterious and ambiguous feeling of the music.
The second piece, Schumann's Cello Concerto in A minor, featured cellist Yang Sung-won, who is also the artistic director of the PyeongChang Daegwallyeong Music Festival, delivering an outstanding performance.
Everyone was captivated by his intense playing and delicate emotional expression, making the experience truly memorable.
The concert concluded with Mahler's Symphony No. 4, a beloved piece in the symphonic repertoire.
With soprano Jo Yoon-ji's collaboration in the fourth movement, the performance was both delicate and grand.
After the concert, there was an event outside where attendees could participate in a survey and receive merchandise.
The '2026 PyeongChang Festival Orchestra in Goyang' was a healing time of 110 minutes that began with a languid afternoon and concluded with a life in the heavens.
