Vibrio Vulnificus Prevention Campaign in Sinan-gun

Hello from Sinan-gun!
Recently, as sea temperatures have risen, the risk of Vibrio vulnificus infections has increased.
In response, Sinan-gun conducted a prevention campaign for Vibrio vulnificus at the festival site, targeting both tourists and local residents.
Vibrio vulnificus is an infectious disease that can occur from consuming contaminated seafood or when open wounds come into contact with seawater.
Main symptoms include fever, diarrhea, and vomiting.
High-risk groups, such as those with liver disease, diabetes, or weakened immune systems, are at greater risk of severe illness and should take extra precautions.
During the festival, Sinan-gun informed visitors about prevention measures and actively promoted the importance of infection prevention.
✅ Vibrio vulnificus Prevention Measures
✔️ Cook seafood thoroughly.
✔️ Sanitize cooking utensils with boiling water.
✔️ Wear gloves when handling seafood.
✔️ Avoid contact with seawater if you have open wounds.
Additionally, Sinan-gun has been sampling and testing seawater and aquarium water weekly since April to prevent Vibrio vulnificus.
We are continuously monitoring marine environmental information such as sea temperature and salinity using a Vibrio prediction system.
For high-risk residents, we are also providing telephone and home visits for prevention education.
Sinan-gun will continue to promote infection prevention activities and monitoring to ensure that both residents and tourists can live without worry.
This summer, please practice prevention measures for a healthy and safe summer!
