Unlocking the Future Through Lifelong Learning: A Hands-On Experience at Shinseong University

The Power of Lifelong Learning Opens the Future. It Starts at Shinseong University.
Shinseong University's experiential learning fair, held in conjunction with the local community, is a place of learning where people learn, experience, and connect together. Various majors, clubs, and local institutions participate to showcase practice-oriented programs, providing opportunities for students and citizens alike to discover new possibilities.
It is an open festival where you can feel the value of education more closely through experiences that you can see, touch, and experience directly on site, and get a sense of your future career path.
I visited the site of the 2nd Experiential Learning Fair held at Shinseong University. The experience booths were gathered in the campus parking lot, creating an atmosphere as if I were at a small festival.
From major-specific practical experiences to learning programs created with local institutions, new experiences unfolded with each step, making it a truly fulfilling time.
It was a day that made me think of the saying, 'Learning continues in everyday life,' as not only students but also citizens could freely participate. A living site where you can feel Shinseong University's educational atmosphere and skills at a glance by seeing, touching, and experiencing it yourself! This expo was also a hot event like last year.
Experience booths full of emotional healing
1. Finding the Color of Life that Brightens My Face
I got a personal color diagnosis, and it was a whole new world to the point where I wondered why I hadn't done it sooner. I just vaguely thought, 'These colors would suit me well?' But after receiving a direct diagnosis, it was so clear to see which colors made my face look alive and which colors made it look dull in an instant that I was surprised.
I'm told that pink is a color that suits me.
2. Aromatic Healing for Pets
While looking for programs to do with my pet, I took on a slightly different 'Scent Making for Pets' experience. DIY scents for people are common, but it was my first time making them exclusively for pets, so I participated with anticipation and curiosity.
They introduced me to essential oils and herbs, and it was really fun to smell each scent and imagine, 'My dog would like this scent.'
3. Today I am a Barista!
I usually just like coffee, but this was the first time I've ever hand-dripped ground beans, so I participated with a fluttering heart. When I took a sip of the finished coffee, I felt a deeper taste than usual, perhaps because I made it myself.
It was an experience that made me realize, 'There were so many processes in a cup of coffee.'
4. When You're Hungry, Snacks are the Best!
Today is not just an ordinary snack, but a time to awaken your taste buds with a slightly different combination. First, classic tteokbokki on the street, the spiciness touches your lips and makes you feel like you're waking up from the fatigue of the day.
Next to it is bungeoppang, with sweet red beans nestled snugly inside the golden rim, so the sweet taste that gently wraps around the spiciness of the tteokbokki was happiness.
And the pumpkin ice cream on top of the rice crackers was savory yet subtly sweet, and it was a finishing dessert that neatly cleaned up the snack scent left in my mouth.
5. The Joy of Flying! Drone Experience
At first, I started by learning the drone structure and how to control it, but after hearing the explanation that it had to move more precisely than I thought, I thought, 'Oh... this won't be easy?'
But the instructor kindly taught me one by one, so I was able to get a sense of it quickly. In particular, when passing through the obstacle course, I became as focused as if I were playing a game, and the thrill of success is really hard to describe.
6. Creating a Mysterious Body
The 'Mysterious Body Making' coloring experience, where science and art meet, was also really interesting. While coloring the designs that express our body's bones, muscles, and organs in a cute and easy way, it was a time to naturally understand the body structure. While coloring with colored pencils, the children told each other, "This is the heart!", "This is where it's digested!" and were curious, and even adults were subtly drawn to the program's unique charm.
It was a rewarding time, taking pictures with the completed work and feeling like I had a small science exhibition.
7. Tarot Card Stories that Open Your Heart
The moment I received a tarot reading in a quiet space, it felt like time had stopped for a moment. Every time I turned over a card, the worries and inner stories that I hadn't been able to express naturally came to light, and the counselor calmly set the direction, so I felt relieved, more like a healing consultation to understand myself than a 'fortune telling'.
It was a short but lasting warm experience. They say that if you try anything, it will come true.
8. Green Healing Blooming from Your Fingertips
This was one of the places with the most people waiting to experience it. The instructor was sweating profusely from explaining it alone. I thought that the participants had so many questions that they were explaining them one by one, and that they wouldn't be able to do it without a sincere passion for plants.
I didn't get to experience it myself, but I got a pot and brought back the homework of trying bonsai while studying at home.
From the excitement I felt from a cup of coffee, the subtle aroma of scents for pets, the green healing that bloomed from my fingertips, the mysterious body I learned while coloring, and my own bonsai pot. Each and every experience I gained from seeing, making, and feeling filled my heart.
The lifelong learning experience booth was more than just a simple activity, it was a time that brought small but special happiness and healing. I hope that today's record, completed with small touches, will bring a small smile to tomorrow's me as well.
The Dangjin Senior Model Club 'Blue Jeans', who participated in the opening ceremony congratulatory performance, also cooperated with the filming. We support Shinseong University of Lifelong Education, where the future of learning is located together.
