Hello, I'm Traveling Greenie, a blogger who loves to travel!
When you think of autumn, what color comes to mind first? I would definitely say golden yellow! To fully enjoy this mesmerizing color, I finally visited Asan Gokgyocheon Ginkgo Tree Road, which is renowned as one of the top 10 most beautiful tree-lined roads in the country.
The real reason I came here was simple! While walking along a road filled with yellow ginkgo leaves is great, I heard that this place is also famous for its sunset views. I could only imagine how fantastic it would be to see the evening sky dyed orange meeting the golden ginkgo trees. It was breathtaking just imagining it.

When I visited, the ginkgo leaves were already past their peak, and it was the time when the leaves were falling like 'ginkgo rain' whenever the wind blew. But the scattering leaves added to the atmosphere, and what ultimately captivated me was the sunset moment.

The sunset was reflected in the waters of Gokgyocheon, spreading an orange hue, and the moment that light embraced the yellow-tinged ginkgo branches, I couldn't help but exclaim, "Wow..." The word 'breathtaking' wasn't enough to describe it. Today, I want to share that beautiful scenery and the warmth I felt with you all!

Warm Comfort Provided by the Sunset and Ginkgo Trees
When I arrived in Asan, it was the time when the sun was just beginning to set beyond Gokgyocheon. As soon as I stepped onto the ginkgo tree road, I was greeted by a golden carpet made of fallen leaves. Instead of a soft dirt path, a neat sidewalk and a bicycle path were laid out side by side, and ginkgo trees over 60 years old stood firmly on both sides, creating a tunnel.
To be honest, I felt a little disappointed.
I thought I might have missed the peak foliage season.
I wondered, 'Am I too late?'
But soon, those worries disappeared. Even though many leaves had fallen, the ginkgo trees themselves had a comforting and cozy feeling. It was a different kind of beauty from the splendor when the leaves were lush, a serene beauty as if preparing for winter. The blue sky seen through the trees and the calm waters of Gokgyocheon created a sense of peace rather than the loneliness of late autumn.

And finally, the magic of the sunset I had been waiting for began!
As the sun approached the horizon, the sky changed color every moment, turning into deep orange, red, and purple. At this time, the sunset light cast a long shadow over the Gokgyocheon waves, and the world was dyed in warm colors. The yellow ginkgo branches and the orange of the sky combined exquisitely, creating a breathtaking color as if they were on fire.
I've been to see a lot of autumn foliage,
but this was the first time I saw a landscape where the sunset and foliage harmonized so perfectly.
It was a moving experience that couldn't be captured in photos.

I walked that road slowly until the sunset completely disappeared and darkness fell. Even though almost all the ginkgo leaves had fallen, I was able to return with beautiful memories rather than disappointment. I realized that this place is not just a place to see the foliage, but a place to find comfort against the backdrop of the beautiful Gokgyocheon and sky.
