Planning a trip to Jeju Island during the Chuseok holiday?
You absolutely have to see the sunrise at Seongsan Ilchulbong!

The only reason I booked accommodation in Seongsan was to witness the sunrise from Seongsan Ilchulbong.
And I finally did it!!
I also took some stunning photos.

I thought it was absolutely breathtaking the moment I saw it.
Jeju has many great restaurants and cafes, but I realized that enjoying the natural scenery is the best.
The tiny people look like toys haha.
I honestly didn't think I'd see the sun because of the clouds.
The clouds were pretty during the day, but not so much at dawn....?
But I finally saw it! 😭
It shone so brightly...

How to get to the free exploration zone of Seongsan Ilchulbong
I parked in the parking lot closest to the entrance.
I was so worried I'd be late...
It's open from 5 AM to 7 PM, so don't worry and enjoy the sunrise and sunset~
In the middle photo, you'll see two arrows, right?!
You have to go to the arrow that says "Free"!!
It's great to see it by climbing Ilchulbong, but if the weather is questionable, if you have mobility issues, or if you just want to see it more comfortably, I highly recommend the free course!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Was I still sleepy...? Haha. The colors are already starting to blend.
Come straight up and turn left.
Ta-da! If you go straight and up the hill,
You can see the wide-open ocean!!
People were already sitting on the stairs.
At this point, the weather was so cloudy that I was worried about whether dawn would even break...
But I couldn't give up.
There were so many people here and it was quite noisy, so I headed to another spot. 🚶♂️🚶♂️

On the way down, I turned around one last time, feeling a little sad.
The color of the grass illuminated by the sunlight is so fresh.
It's exactly the image of morning, right?
It was such a peaceful and meaningful time.
