Made a whole chicken for Malbok (the last day of the dog days of summer). Personally, I think *dakgomtang* (chicken bone soup) or *baeksuk* (boiled chicken) taste better.

Visited Exotic Gimpo Janggi Branch for my mom's birthday, taking a day off.

The place is antique and pretty, and the food is delicious!! Highly recommend the mushroom pizza. ????????

Visited Jatura.

Wow, even on a weekday, it's super crowded. There are photo spots from the entrance to the hall, so you can enter with time intervals, which is kind of fun! Feels like an escape room!! I bet it's packed on weekends...

Speaking of summer, we had to go to a 계곡 (valley)! So, we booked a pension super last minute and headed to Hwacheon.

It's been a while since I've been to Hwacheon, and it's still pretty far even without traffic.ㅠ

We even brought a big pot from home to boil *baeksuk*.

The chicken was so big it was almost scary! LOL We started eating *baeksuk* and drinking from 1PM, then went to play in the 계곡 (valley).

Isn't this 신선놀음 (living like a hermit/enjoying nature)?????

Tarzan, each other.

ㅋㅋㅋSo cute... It's kinda Ghibli-esque. ????????

Couldn't have a barbecue because it was too hot, so we quickly grilled and ate inside. We ate a lot of other stuff, but I couldn't take pictures.

We even brought a fishing rod and worms to catch mountain catfish, but... the worms cooked in the heat, so we couldn't fish.

Anyway, it was an even better trip because it was so spontaneous.????

It's really hot. Jjokko just sprawls out anywhere LOL. The floor is cool, though...

But we can't skip the walk, so we put an ice pack on and went out for a short walk.???? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Visited Janjeong, a place I wanted to try for *imo-kase* (a meal where the auntie/owner decides what you eat).

It's ₩35,000 per person, and it comes in order: shrimp, whelk, *jeon* (Korean pancake), pike eel sashimi, spicy salad, *bossam* (boiled pork), spicy fish stew, and dessert. I was just so so!! Maybe the menu changes daily, and it might be better on other days~~~

The last summer vacation! We left at 5 AM because it was going to be a long drive and the traffic would be bad. Thanks to that, we arrived refreshed without any traffic.ㅋㅋㅋ

Visited Heungbune Bapsang.

They serve *dolsot* (stone pot) set meals, and the price is reasonable. The side dishes are great too!! We had a hearty breakfast as soon as we arrived~~

Sightseeing at Naksansa Temple.

Naksan Beach.

Went straight to playing in the water! It's closed for the season, so we could use our own parasols, which was even better.

Our accommodation was right in front of the beach, so there was no need to drive.

I immediately made ice *somaek* (soju and beer) in my tumbler.

The waves were so strong! I got flipped over a few times on the tube and probably drank 2L of water. (Sorry I couldn't get my pedicure removed in time.ㅎ)

Also, I wiggled my toes around and caught some clams I don't know the name of.

Feeling peckish, so we ate ramen. Of course, after playing in the water, it's gotta be "Shrimp Tang (Ramyun)".

Visited Bunsudae Restaurant.

I heard their *muk-eunji* (aged kimchi) with *samgyeopsal* (pork belly) is amazing, so we went, and there was a wait!

We ate outside, and the weather wasn't too hot, and the atmosphere was great.

Ate the fried rice meticulously.

While waiting, a baby was sitting on their dad's feet.ㅋㅋㅋ The dad kept standing like a statue, and the baby would play, sit down, play, sit down.ㅋㅋㅋ It was so cute.ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Visited Young's Imsil Pizza.

We were sad to just go home, so we took a walk and went to eat pizza. They had a lot of takeout orders.ㅋㅋㅋ They put a lot of cheese in and bake it right away!! It's really, really delicious. I'll definitely go if I go to Yangyang!!!!!

Woke up at 8 AM. LOL One last look at the sea and went back home before the traffic got bad.

Played from 5 AM to 1 AM the next day. Booked an affordable accommodation for ₩25,000 using a coupon and ate a lot of delicious food~~~~

Woke up and left at 9 AM and arrived home at 11 AM. ㅋㅋㅋ

It was really a hectic last trip.ㅋㅋㅋㅋ I came to my senses and I was already home. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I really filled it 100% with no regrets. ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

I'm going to go on another trip like this next year!!

I did all the water activities I could this year - 계곡 (valley), swimming pool, and the sea.

Goodbye, hot and green summer!????????

Real Korea, Curated for Global Travelers

WassupKorea is a next-generation platform designed for foreigners who want to truly experience Korea — not just as tourists, but as locals. While countless Koreans have shared their daily lives, food experiences, and cultural tips through blogs, videos, and social media, much of this valuable content remains locked behind language barriers. WassupKorea solves this by collecting and curating high-quality local content and making it accessible to global audiences through real-time AI-powered translation. Instead of superficial recommendations, users gain access to authentic, first-hand stories — from hidden street food spots to weekend mountain hikes — written by Koreans for Koreans, now reinterpreted for the world.

AI-Powered Personalization, Translation, and Voice Interaction

What sets WassupKorea apart is its deep integration of artificial intelligence at the core of the platform. AI matches users with personalized content based on their language, nationality, and travel interests. Whether you're looking for vegan Korean food in Jeonju or part-time job tips in Seoul, the platform's smart engine brings the most relevant, timely posts to the forefront. Every piece of content — blog summaries, local guides, user comments — is instantly translated using advanced AI translators. Users can also listen to posts via natural-sounding voice AI in their own language. Real-time voice translation in community chats allows for live conversations between users from different countries. With voice synthesis, AI can even "learn" your voice preferences to create a more natural and immersive experience.

A Living Community Driven by Local Content and Global Connection

WassupKorea is more than just an information portal — it’s an AI-driven community hub that grows smarter as users interact. Travelers and residents alike can share their own content via links from TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube, or directly post on the platform. AI categorizes the content, suggests similar posts, and connects users with shared interests. Foreigners living in Korea can also access essential resources like visa tips, rental guides, job listings, and lifestyle hacks. As more content is generated and more interactions occur, the AI refines its recommendations — creating a dynamic feedback loop that benefits every user. WassupKorea bridges the gap between Korea’s deep local knowledge and the global audience eager to explore it, forming a smart, multilingual, and inclusive platform for everyone curious about life in Korea.
