Successful 'Haenam 50+ Healing Travel' Program by Haenam Cultural Tourism Foundation

Haenam Cultural Tourism Foundation successfully held the 'Haenam 50+ Healing Travel' program in collaboration with local travel agencies.
- Expanding participation from the local travel industry and revitalizing the regional economy -
On the 14th, 16th, and 17th, approximately 350 members of the Gwangju Buk-gu Senior Citizens Association visited Haenam as part of the customized stay-type tourism program 'Haenam 50+ Healing Travel' organized by the Haenam Cultural Tourism Foundation.
'Haenam 50+ Healing Travel' is a tourism program aimed at the middle-aged and elderly population over 50, who are the main visitors to Haenam. It was designed to increase the influx of local residents and revitalize the economy.
This initiative features unique content that connects Haenam's wellness resources with the country's heritage food culture (such as sauces, traditional liquor, and tea). Notably, the program was established through a cooperative structure where travel agencies propose programs and attract participants, while the foundation supports the operation.
The visiting group from the Gwangju Buk-gu Senior Citizens Association participated in a healing course planned by the local travel agency. The group enjoyed a meaningful healing journey, starting with a traditional food-making experience, followed by lunch at a local restaurant, and concluding with a visit to the historic Daehungsa Temple.
A representative from the foundation stated, "Through close communication and cooperation with local travel agencies, we were able to present a great program utilizing the region's unique cultural resources. We plan to actively consider regular operations of this sustainable tourism program to enhance the brand value of 'Storytelling Haenam' and ensure continuous visits from the middle-aged and elderly population after the pilot project."
