Shinan County Achieves Remarkable Success in Sports

Hello,
This is Shinan County.
We are proud to share our accomplishments!
From April 22 to 24,
our athletes participated in the
34th Jeollanam-do Disabled Sports Competition held in Gurye.
Our team ranked 9th overall.
A total of 75 athletes competed in 11 events,
including athletics, park golf, weightlifting, and table tennis.
We achieved a remarkable result,
winning 3 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 7 bronze medals.
This achievement is particularly meaningful given the challenges
of being in an island region with a small population,
and the absence of a dedicated sports association for the disabled.
It reflects the hard work and dedication of our athletes and officials.
Despite financial difficulties,
Shinan County is committed to promoting sports for the disabled
by steadily increasing our budget for related activities.
We are also focusing on building sports infrastructure,
such as the construction of the Bandabi National Sports Center in Jido-eup.
Moving forward,
Shinan County will continue to strive for the development of sports for the disabled,
creating an environment where everyone can enjoy and grow together.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the athletes and officials
for their hard work and dedication.
