National DMO Officials Gather in Haenam to Discuss Regional Tourism Activation Strategies

The "1st DMO Consultative Meeting 2026," hosted by the Korea Tourism Organization's Regional Tourism Cooperation Team, was held over two days from the 17th to the 18th at the Haenam 126 Hotel and surrounding areas.
This meeting was organized as part of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization's initiative to support the development of Destination Management Organizations (DMOs). DMO officials from across the country attended to share project progress and discuss strategies for revitalizing regional tourism.
On the first day, presentations were made regarding the status of projects by each DMO, along with guidance on final performance evaluation plans, and training on grant execution and accounting. Following this, expert lectures on online marketing strategies to attract tourists and the discovery and planning of local tourism products and content were conducted to enhance participants' capabilities.
On the second day, attendees visited the San-i Garden, which is a representative program of Haenam DMO, to experience garden programs firsthand. They also explored the Daeheungsa Temple area on Duryunsan Mountain, taking time to view Haenam's prominent tourism resources and cultural heritage.
This consultative meeting provided an opportunity for DMO officials from around the country to directly experience and exchange ideas about Haenam's tourism content and best practices, strengthening the inter-regional cooperation network and enhancing tourism competitiveness.
The CEO of the Haenam Cultural Tourism Foundation stated, "It was a meaningful time for DMO officials from across the nation to visit Haenam and experience the region's diverse tourism resources and content firsthand. We will continue to discover and develop Haenam's unique tourism content to contribute to the revitalization of regional tourism."
