Introducing Kim Sa-bu Malatang: A New Dining Experience in Jincheon

Today, I would like to introduce Kim Sa-bu Malatang, a newly established exemplary restaurant in Jincheon. Recently, malatang has become incredibly popular among people of all ages. This could be attributed to the variety of vegetables available for selection and the warm, comforting broth that is perfect for the chilly winter season. The restaurant's central location makes it easily accessible!
It's great that we can now enjoy malatang conveniently in Jincheon. What's even better is that this restaurant has been designated as an exemplary restaurant by Jincheon County! This means it has been officially recognized for its hygiene, service, and quality, making it a trustworthy dining option.
Since it has recently opened, the interior is impressively clean and modern. The pleasant and tidy atmosphere typical of malatang restaurants is definitely a plus!
Usually, the way to enjoy malatang is not by ordering at the table but by selecting your desired ingredients directly into a basket and paying based on the weight. There is a wide variety of colorful ingredients to choose from, and since malatang allows for a good intake of vegetables, it can be a nutritious meal if you manage the spice levels!
You can get protein from quail eggs, lotus root, squid, dried tofu, and shrimp, while vegetables like bok choy, bean sprouts, and mushrooms are also available. Additionally, there are options for carbohydrates like cheese rice cakes, fish cakes, and noodles, allowing for a well-rounded meal.
I balanced my selection of vegetables, proteins, and carbohydrates. I typically prefer noodles, and I recommend the corn noodles as they pair well with the malatang.
Since the price is determined by the weight of the ingredients I selected, I can eat just the right amount. My total came to 12,000 won, which is quite reasonable.
The spice levels range from 1 to 3, and if you're not a fan of spicy food, I suggest starting with level 1, which is mild and very manageable. I also struggle with spicy food, and I found level 1 to be just right.
You can order malatang starting from 7,000 won, and they also offer side dishes like mala xiang guo, guo bao rou, and various Chinese beverages. If you want to add beef, it's 3,000 won for 100g, so just let the staff know before you pay.
After placing my order, the food was prepared quickly! With level 1 spice, the flavor was pleasantly mild, making it easy to enjoy. For 12,000 won, the portion size is quite good, providing great value for money.
Among the various ingredients I tried, I was pleasantly surprised by how well the sausage paired with the malatang. I usually eat sausage often, so I didn't expect much, but it was delicious! The dried tofu was soft, and the wood ear mushrooms had a nice texture.
The corn noodles I chose for carbohydrates were very soft, reminiscent of traditional noodle dishes. With plenty of vegetables, along with a balance of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, this meal was quite filling!
After finishing the meal, each diner can enjoy a complimentary ice cream. It’s a nice treat to have after enjoying malatang. If you love malatang, I highly recommend visiting!
