Inauguration of the 7th Heuksan Skate Cutting School

Hello from Sinan County!
On April 7th, we held the inauguration ceremony for the 7th Heuksan Skate Cutting School at the Heuksan Welfare Center.
The ceremony was attended by 12 trainees and officials, marking a meaningful moment to support their new beginning.
Since 2020, the Heuksan Skate Cutting School has been a program operated in collaboration with the Heuksan branch of the Sinan County Tourism Council.
This initiative was started to address the reality of decreasing cutting labor in the face of increasing demand during holidays and peak orders for skate.
It aims to assist residents in generating income.
This year marks the 7th session of the program, which has now established itself as a specialized program representing Sinan.
To date, a total of 93 graduates have completed the training, with many obtaining the private certification of 'Heuksan Skate Cutter' and actively working in the field.
In this 7th session, we will further strengthen practical training and conduct thorough safety education.
We also plan to operate a systematic educational program to ensure that participants can obtain their certifications.
Currently, there are 9 Heuksan skate fishing vessels in Sinan County, securing a total allowable catch (TAC) of 392 tons, generating an annual sales revenue of approximately 4.9 billion won.
We will continue our efforts to ensure that the local fisheries industry and residents' incomes grow together.
