Health Awareness Campaign for Seniors in Sinan-gun

Hello from Sinan-gun!
As warm spring days arrive, outdoor activities are increasing.
In response, we are conducting education on tick-borne disease prevention to protect the health of our seniors.
This education will start on April 15th in Jido-eup and will take place at eight locations within the district.
A total of 1,339 seniors will participate in this program.
Preventing tick-borne diseases is crucial.
Diseases such as scrub typhus and severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome often show symptoms not immediately after a tick bite, but after a certain period.
Therefore, early detection and prompt response are essential.
Seniors are at higher risk due to frequent outdoor activities and relatively weaker immune systems, making preventive measures even more necessary.
We conduct practical, easy-to-understand education tailored for seniors, focusing on:
✔️ Infection routes
✔️ Key symptoms
✔️ Preventive measures in daily life
Please remember these prevention tips:
✔️ Wear long sleeves and long pants during outdoor activities
✔️ Use tick repellents correctly
✔️ Shower and wash clothes immediately after outdoor activities
✔️ Check thoroughly for ticks on your body
We provide guidance on practical methods that can be easily implemented in daily life.
In this educational program, we will also cover:
✔️ Tuberculosis screening information
✔️ Proper handwashing education
to actively support the healthy lives of our seniors.
Sinan-gun will continue to monitor and support the health of our residents more closely and thoroughly.
