Glamping Getaway in Gimpo: A Relaxing 1-Night Escape

September 20-21, 2025
A 1-night, 2-day trip to a glamping site in Gimpo, a nearby city.
Even though it's glamping and not traditional camping, we've still packed a ton of stuff! Most of it's food... Can we even eat all this in one night?
This little one insists on carrying his own bag.
And he's making a fuss because he wants to wear his new indoor outfit...
Where can I find outdoor play clothes with material as good as indoor wear?
It's a beautiful autumn weekend afternoon, and the roads are packed with cars, maybe because of the nice weather. What usually takes an hour is showing up as over an hour and a half on the GPS.

The traffic finally cleared up as we got closer to Gimpo.
My niece and nephew joined us today! The kids are so excited.
We stayed in an air tent (glamping) in the Romantic Campnic Zone.
This place is famous for its swimming pool, so it's fully booked during the summer. But now that the pool is closed, it's not too hard to get a reservation.
Our spot was A-3, with two queen beds.

Since many people have used it, some of the springs are a bit worn. It was fine for me for one night, but it might be uncomfortable for someone with back problems.
While the kids were jumping around excitedly, we unpacked our stuff.
Across from our zone, there's an auto camping zone.
The lot above wasn't occupied yet, but a family we know was planning to stay there. They arrived shortly after we did.
We found marshmallows, so we decided to roast some for the kids first.

Our friends arrived soon, and while they were setting up their tent, the kids were busy doing origami at the glamping site.
Even though it's auto camping, their air tent is better than our glamping setup! It seems like something we could never manage. Impressive!
Now, shall we grill some meat? We grilled it over charcoal and also on a portable stove to get it to the kids quickly, but I don't have a picture of the charcoal grill.
Pork belly is definitely the best when grilled over charcoal!

It was drizzling, which added to the ambiance. It stopped shortly after. It's definitely getting chilly in the fall.
As it got dark, we enjoyed a bonfire.
We went out to the open area for fireworks, but they burned out too quickly... disappointing.
I bought them on Coupang, but why were the reviews so good?
We ate until we were stuffed and even finished off some Jjapaghetti :)

The night view is nice, but...
There's nothing here besides the swimming pool.
No playground for kids, no sandpit, no bouncy castle... I realized I need to be more thorough about packing things for the kids to do when we come to a campsite in the future.
Everyone must have been tired. They all crashed at 10 PM, as if they were waiting for it, haha. It was a trip all about eating!
Morning at the glamping site!

With puffy faces, we went to our friend's tent for fish cake soup and cup noodles!
And we grilled the leftover pork belly from yesterday.
A camping trip that ended with us eating heartily.
We bought snacks at the store near the main gate before heading home.

Next time we come here, it'll have to be in the summer.
We should have spent the same amount of time and gone to Gapyeong again like last time. My husband and I talked about this on the way home.

Still, we had a good time!
The End
