Gapyeong Getaway: Sheep Farm, Alpaca Cafe, and Jaraseom Island - A Perfect Day Trip from Seoul

GAPYEONG TRAVEL
Hello,
I'm D.SHU, a travel enthusiast who explores dreams :)
If you're looking for a great place to travel during the Chuseok holiday,
how about Gapyeong, Gyeonggi-do?
From a sheep farm to an alpaca cafe and Jaraseom Island,
I highly recommend it for a unique and fulfilling date!
1. Must-Visit Places in Gapyeong: A Quick Guide!
Sheep Farm, Alpaca Cafe, and Jaraseom Island at a Glance
Address: 1209, Yumeong-ro, Seorak-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do
Parking: Available
Operating Hours: Sheep Farm Cafe 09:30 - 19:00 daily / Feeding Experience 09:30 - 18:00
Gapyeong is close to Seoul and is a popular destination within Gyeonggi-do
for trips and outings!
Today, I'll introduce you to the sheep farm, alpaca cafe, and Jaraseom Island -
all of which you can easily explore in one go!
Plus, they're all open during the long Chuseok holiday,
making it a great recommendation for those planning a trip or date with kids!
During this Chuseok holiday, the 'Jaraseom Flower Festa,'
a representative tourism festival of Gyeonggi-do, is also being held,
so I recommend incorporating it into your itinerary if you're looking for places to visit in Gapyeong!
The Gapyeong Sheep Farm I visited
uses a vast area,
so I recommend allowing plenty of time!
Although it's in Gyeonggi-do, parking is convenient,
and you can enjoy experiences and the cafe all in one place,
making it perfect for a Gapyeong date!
The sheep farm, hay exchange, alpaca area, bakery cafe, etc.,
are divided into several spaces, so follow the arrows carefully!
I wanted to see the feeding, sheep, and alpacas before the cafe,
so I went to the right after entering.
2. Perfect for a Gyeonggi-do Date during Chuseok Holiday:
Gapyeong Travel
The reason I recommend the sheep farm as a must-visit place in Gapyeong is
because it's one of the few places where you can see sheep so close to the city in Korea!
Moreover, they are sincere about the animals here,
so being able to see the sheep frolicking in the green meadows
was an even better charm point!
Cute sheep with their necks craned out when I brought the feed...
I went to the hay exchange
and had an alpaca walking / sheep feeding experience~
Carrot + Hay + Powdered milk: 8,000 won
Alpaca Walk (10 minutes): 10,000 won
I liked that I could have a unique experience
at a reasonable cost!
[Sheep & Alpaca Feeding Experience]
I recommend one set per person
for those dating in Gapyeong!
For those accompanied by children, within the sheep farm,
entry is possible with a guardian,
so consider this carefully when purchasing~
Having the feed definitely made it
much better to see the sheep and alpacas up close~
[Walking with Alpacas]
A cafe where you can even walk alpacas...?
I've fed alpacas before,
but walking them was a first for me,
and the course that goes around the Gapyeong Sheep Farm
was unique and fun!
(*If you're going for a date in Gapyeong,
it's also possible for 2 people to split the 10 minutes and walk them simultaneously~)
[Small Animal Zone]
Here, in addition to sheep and alpacas,
you could also meet various small animals
such as goats, hamsters, guinea pigs, and meerkats!
Almost like a mini zoo in Gyeonggi-do?
Baby sheep were also in one space,
so I could finish up the milk feeding experience~
3. Enjoying a Gapyeong Date in Nature:
Recommended Course for Sheep Farm & Alpaca Cafe
During the Chuseok holiday, the Jaraseom Flower Festa is also great, but
if you don't have enough time,
you can also see hydrangeas at the Gapyeong Sheep Farm!
Plus, alpacas roaming freely...✨
If you've exhausted your energy running around in the vast nature,
it's time to replenish it.
You can freely use the cafe with your drink voucher,
I visited on a weekday,
but it's a popular place to visit in Gapyeong,
so it was already crowded~
(It might be a little more crowded if you visit during the Chuseok holiday)
But there are two cafe buildings, so don't worry!
And if you're on the terrace, you can also meet peacocks and parrots
As befits a bakery cafe in Gyeonggi-do, there were many
beautiful and delicious-looking breads and cakes!
I chose my favorite bread and drink, found a seat, and sat down~
Cloud Hill Cafe's
signature drinks and bakeries!
Looking at the scenery outside through the wide windows
and enjoying a cup of coffee was pure healing~
And on the way out after drinking coffee,
I saw a sledding hill and it looked fun, so I rode it and
found my inner child...?
It's recommended not only for those on a date
but also for those visiting Gapyeong with children,
as adults can ride it too!
Before leaving, I stopped by the souvenir shop
and found many cute and unique items~
It would be nice to take away a page of memories!
Final Review
Gapyeong Sheep Farm was full of things to see, do, and enjoy!
It is already famous as a place to visit in Gyeonggi-do,
but if you combine it with the Jaraseom Festival that is currently underway,
a fulfilling date with your child during the Chuseok holiday is completely possible!
From alpaca walks to a bakery cafe, you can
spend time cost-effectively in one place, so I recommend it!
