Recently opened, Fabre Hall is gaining attention as an exhibition and ecological education space that stimulates children's curiosity.

Here’s a glimpse of a special day spent closer to nature.
Discover the world of insects at the newly opened Fabre Hall
Opening Hours: 09:00 AM - 05:30 PM
Closed on: January 1, Lunar New Year, Chuseok, and every Monday
The main purpose of this visit was to explore the newly opened Fabre Hall.
Fabre Hall features exhibitions focused on insects and ecology, providing a space to closely observe various insect specimens and preserved specimens.
As soon as we entered the exhibition hall, we were captivated by the display of various butterflies, stag beetles, and rhinoceros beetles, which immediately caught the child's attention.
The child's favorite spot was in front of the Upa-lupa tank.
With its mysterious appearance and adorable movements, it was hard to look away for a long time.
It was impressive to see how observing living creatures can naturally cultivate an interest in ecology.
After visiting Fabre Hall, we headed to the adjacent Tropical Botanical Garden.
As soon as we stepped inside, we were greeted by warm air and lush plants, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a tropical region.
The garden features a variety of tropical plants, allowing us to encounter unique landscapes as we walked around.
Each plant is accompanied by detailed descriptions of its name and characteristics, making it easy to read together with the child and naturally learn about plants.
The area that fascinated my son the most was the cactus section.
From small cacti to those taller than a person, he was amazed by the different shapes.
It was also an interesting experience for adults to see plants that are usually hard to encounter up close.
The research greenhouse was the most memorable part of our visit.
In the greenhouse, we encountered banana trees that are actually growing.
Seeing how the bananas we commonly eat grow on trees was fascinating.
My son exclaimed, "I didn’t know bananas grow like this!" in surprise.
We also got to see coffee trees.
It was a special experience to visually confirm the plant that produces the coffee we drink daily.
This time spent meeting plants that we had only encountered in books or videos allowed us to feel closer to nature.
Recommended family outing spot in Chungbuk

For children who love insects, the various insect exhibitions provide excitement, while the Tropical Botanical Garden and research greenhouse offer special enjoyment for families interested in plants.
Most importantly, the time spent seeing and experiencing nature directly is highly educational.
After finishing the visit, my 5th-grade son expressed, "I want to come back with my friends next time," indicating how satisfying the experience was.
This coming weekend, visit the Cheongju Organic Industry Complex in Namil-myeon with your family to create special memories and experiences in nature.
