The Dangjin Seokmun Local Food Direct Store
is located on one side of the Seokmun Agricultural Cooperative Hanaro Mart building.
During my trip to Dangjin, I was curious about the local agricultural products,
so I stopped by. The large sign saying 'Local Food Agricultural Cooperative' made it easy to find.
In front of the entrance, there were carts for shopping baskets lined up,
and as I walked in, I was greeted by a sign saying 'LOCAL FOOD' in orange letters on a green background.
As I walked deeper into the store,
the first thing that caught my eye was the local food corner.
Local residents were picking up various items,
and the brightly lit shelves were stacked with colorful fruits and vegetables,
giving the atmosphere a lively market feel.
Each display was surrounded by an orange band labeled 'Agricultural Cooperative Local Food',
making it easy to identify local products at a glance.
What impressed me the most was the label on the packaging.
Even just picking up a bag of Dangjin strawberries,
it clearly stated that the origin was Seokmun-myeon, Dangjin City,
along with the producer's name and the shipping date.
Since the date I visited matched the shipping date on the label,
it felt real that the items had just been delivered and placed on the shelves.
There was a sense of trust, as if I were buying vegetables from a neighbor I knew.
Green chili peppers were priced around 1,000 to 1,200 won per bag,
and a bunch of green onions was 4,000 won, neatly tied with slightly muddy roots,
conveying the freshness of just being harvested.
Unlike the trimmed vegetables commonly seen in supermarkets,
the dirt still clinging to the roots gave a lively impression,
as if they had just been pulled from the field.
Sweet potatoes are also a specialty of Dangjin,
and here, boxes labeled 'Dangjin Yellow Soil Sweet Potatoes' and bags of pumpkin sweet potatoes
were generously stacked.
Next to them, shiny chestnuts were packed in large bags,
and apples were displayed in red bags, signaling the arrival of autumn.
One side of the display also featured a corner for local brands from Chungnam,
where processed foods made from local ingredients, like rice noodles made from lotus leaves,
could also be found.
The reason I was particularly pleased with the Dangjin Seokmun Local Food
was not just because the vegetables were fresh.
Seokmun-myeon is an area where the sea and rice fields are closely connected,
and many farmers live here.
Having a direct store like this is beneficial for local farmers,
allowing them to sell their products without sending them far away.
From a consumer perspective,
you can trust the produce grown by local farmers,
and from the producer's standpoint,
it allows them to present their products honestly with their name on it.
I felt that this place serves as a bridge connecting both parties.
The greatest advantage of the local food direct store,
as I experienced during my visit, is the short distribution chain.
Since the produce is displayed directly from the farm,
the prices are reasonable and the freshness is high.
For producers, this creates a stable market,
making it a beneficial structure for both sides.
At the bottom of the label, there was a phrase that read,
'A beautiful choice that preserves the environment and rural areas,
and loves farmers and agriculture.'
This made me feel that shopping here supports local farmers.
The Dangjin Seokmun Local Food is great for picking up fresh vegetables or fruits
if you're just passing through,
and for those living nearby, it makes for a convenient shopping spot.
If you're planning to shop during your visit to Dangjin,
I recommend making a good purchase of fresh local food,
each of which is grown with care by local farmers.
It felt like I was taking home a little treasure from my travels,
making my steps much lighter.
If you find yourself in Dangjin,
I recommend not just visiting tourist spots,
but also stopping by the Dangjin Seokmun Local Food
to experience the local flavors and warmth.
