Exploring the Jincheon Education Library

The Jincheon Education Library is more than just a place to read books; it offers a comfortable space to relax and enjoy various activities.
Located in Jincheon-eup, the library has diverse spaces on each floor catering to children, teenagers, and adults. Notably, the reading area for children is well-designed, allowing them to freely choose books and stay comfortably.
Address: 11 Sangsan 1-gil, Jincheon-eup, Jincheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do
Closed: Every Monday and public holidays
Upon arrival, the pathway connecting the library to Jincheon Sangsan Elementary School caught my attention. The stairs between the school and the library allow students to naturally move to the library after school, making it a convenient reading space for them.
As you enter the building, you will find the 'BE CoME' area on the first floor. This space features a variety of books, a reading area for children, comfortable seating, and a transcription area. Unlike typical reading rooms with rows of desks and chairs, this library offers a diverse layout, allowing users to choose their preferred spot to read.
One standout feature is the children's area, where low bookshelves are surrounded by plush sofas and ample seating, enabling kids to select and immediately explore their chosen books. There is also a shoe-free area where visitors can sit on mats or comfortably lean back to read picture books, making it suitable for visits with young children.
The first floor also includes a transcription garden, where visitors can write down their favorite sentences or quotes from books. This area provides a calm atmosphere, ideal for those who wish to read alone or enjoy some quiet time.
Ascending the stairs leads to the second floor, known as 'BE TWEEN.' This space is designed for teenagers to read books and engage in various creative activities. It features bookshelves, tables, and relaxation areas that blend harmoniously.
The library has a variety of seating options, from large tables to individual study spots, allowing users to choose spaces based on their needs. One particularly appealing area resembles an attic reading nook, designed for comfortable lounging or lying down with a book, making it more inviting for children and teenagers.
The third floor, 'BE WITH,' includes spaces for lectures and educational programs, as well as outdoor areas.
In addition to lending and reading services, the Jincheon Education Library offers various reading and experiential programs for children and teenagers. Each program has different target audiences, schedules, and application methods, so it's advisable to check the library's website or bulletin board before visiting.
The Jincheon Education Library is a space where children can sit on sofas to read, explore picture books on mats, and enjoy their own reading time in the attic-like space on the second floor. If you're looking to spend a leisurely time with books in the cool indoors during the hot month of August, consider enjoying a reading retreat at the Jincheon Education Library.
