Exploring the Cherry Blossom Tunnel at Munsoosa Temple

▲ Double Cherry Blossom 'Flower Tunnel'
For me, spring warms up with cherry blossoms and reaches its peak with double cherry blossoms.
Only then do I feel ready to face summer.
"We need to get to Munsoosa Temple by dawn!"
As I rubbed my sleepy eyes and got into the car, I couldn't help but pout.
"Will there really be that many people?" Yes, Munsoosa Temple is currently at its peak, with flowers and people alike!
▲ Ilju Gate
If you go right from the Ilju Gate, you'll find this beautiful flower tunnel.
Following the narrow path inward, you'll arrive at a spacious parking lot.
Here's a tip: if you go a bit further up, there's a separate 'Upper Parking Lot'.
However, on weekends, parking fills up quickly unless you arrive early in the morning, so it's best to park wherever you find a spot!

"We must go to the double cherry blossom tunnel first when there are no people!"
As soon as I got out of the car, I followed the path to the right of the Ilju Gate as if on a mission.
Finally, I arrived at the double cherry blossom tunnel; doesn’t it feel like a scene from a fairy tale?

After passing through the tunnel, the next spot is a lovely pond.
I read that it was recently created, and the reflection of the double cherry blossoms in the water is incredibly dreamy.
The bench placed there seems like a thoughtful addition, right?
Sitting there and gazing at the reflection of the double cherry blossoms sounds delightful.

▲ Munsoosa Temple and Lanterns
Climbing up the stairs, I finally reached Munsoosa Temple.
Leaving behind the splendor of the double cherry blossoms, I entered the heart of Munsoosa Temple, where wishes hung on lanterns danced in the breeze.

There’s a pavilion with free instant coffee and cups available.
It seems to be a kind gesture inviting visitors to take a break with a warm cup of coffee during the busiest season.

According to records, Munsoosa Temple is a historic site believed to have been founded in the second year of King Chungmok of Goryeo.
In the past, over 600 artifacts, including silk, rice, and pottery, were discovered inside a golden statue.
Thanks to the double cherry blossoms, it is now famous as a 'double cherry blossom attraction'.

The double cherry blossoms at Munsoosa Temple in Seosan are said to be at their peak from mid-April to the end of the month.
This year, I predict it will be this weekend!
