As I travel back and forth in Seosan, Chungcheongnam-do, I often pass by a small bus stop that can easily be overlooked.

I live in Dangjin, but my parents in Seoul frequently use the Unsan Bus Station to travel to and from Dong Seoul Terminal.

If you take a moment to stop and look around, you will find stories filled with human warmth and traces of time.

Let me share the story of Unsan Bus Station and the Mural Village.

This time, I visited Unsan Bus Station to drop off my parents at Dong Seoul Terminal.

As always, the journey to see them off is filled with mixed emotions.

A simple farewell of "Have a good trip" carries both worry and longing.

However, this visit to Unsan Bus Station turned into a special time to experience the local atmosphere rather than just a bus ride.

Unsan Bus Station is not a large terminal with the latest facilities.

But that makes it even more endearing.

The warm atmosphere of a rural town is alive here, with old signs and small shops.

You can feel the charming scenery in the sight of elderly people waiting for buses.

For my parents' generation, it is a familiar and comfortable space, while for younger generations, it offers a retro vibe.

Unsan Bus Station operates intercity buses to Dong Seoul Terminal, making it convenient for locals heading to Seoul.

My parents mentioned, "It’s much more convenient to board here."

Not having to carry luggage far is a significant help for the elderly.

You can reserve tickets through the T-money Go app, but if you haven't made a reservation, you can buy tickets from the unmanned ticket machine at the CU convenience store across the street.

While waiting for the bus, I took a slow stroll around the station and discovered a surprisingly charming space.

This is the Unsan Mural Village.

As I entered the alley around the station, colorful murals adorned the walls.

Images of children playing, warm rural landscapes, and paintings of flowers and nature brightened the alley atmosphere.

Unlike the flashy mural villages often seen in tourist spots, this one felt simple and naturally integrated into the lives of local residents.

It felt more comforting and warm because of that.

As we walked through the alley, my parents smiled like children at the murals.

"They’ve done a great job decorating here!" they exclaimed, taking photos.

It was a place I would usually pass by, but taking a moment to walk slowly made the neighborhood feel like a small exhibition.

The charm of the mural village lies in its warmth rather than its extravagance.

Old walls and murals blend together beautifully, giving off a genuine sense of life.

Even when taking photos, the natural emotions captured felt much better than those of an artificial tourist spot.

Nearby, I noticed an old protected tree standing tall, watching over the village.

As I approached, I felt the passage of time in its thick trunk and wide branches.

It seemed like a guardian of the village that has been there for a long time.

I could easily imagine the village elders gathering under this tree to share stories and rest.

While there are many beautiful cafes and tourist attractions nowadays, the comfort provided by such an old tree is a different kind of touch.

My parents looked at the protected tree and remarked, "This tree must be really old," which touched my heart.

Just like the tree that has endured the test of time, my parents have also persevered for our family.

Visiting Unsan Bus Station was not just about catching a bus.

It was a warm time spent walking with my parents, admiring murals, and resting under the old tree.

It may not be a place with spectacular sights like famous tourist spots, but that's what makes it special.

The alley filled with the scent of humanity, the quiet rural town scenery, and the atmosphere created by the old tree and murals bring peace to the heart.

In our busy lives, we often only focus on our destination.

But this time, as I accompanied my parents, slowing down allowed me to notice the scenery that had gone unnoticed before.

If you happen to pass by Unsan-myeon in Seosan, I recommend taking a moment to walk around the Unsan Bus Station.

Even during the short wait for the bus to Dong Seoul, you can enjoy a little healing by exploring the mural village and the protected tree.

For some, it may just be a small rural bus stop, but for others, it becomes a place filled with memories of sending off their parents, and for yet others, a warm alley to take a break.

This day will surely remain in my memory for a long time.
