Exploring the Beauty of Hongseong Solbaram Theme Park

The weather has been so lovely lately that it feels a shame to stay indoors. While searching for a nice place to walk in May, I visited a beautiful park in Hongseong. It was refreshing, and I enjoyed my stroll, so I wanted to share my experience.
1. A Scenic Drive to the Lush Green Hongseong
Hongseong Solbaram Theme Park spans about 50,000 pyeong (approximately 165,000 square meters), offering a vast area to explore. While researching places to visit in Hongseong, I came across various attractions, but encountering the meticulously maintained forests and gardens made me feel the dedication that went into their care.
Walking along the path lined with vibrant green trees in May filled me with excitement, and even now, recalling that moment brings a smile to my face.
2. A Lighthearted Walk Through the Forest and the Tram Ride
After checking my ticket at the entrance, I stepped into the park, where spacious walking paths and trams awaited to assist visitors. The park is quite expansive with some hilly terrain, so they offer a paid tram service.
Riding the tram while enjoying the cool breeze looked quite relaxing, but I chose to walk slowly to listen to the sounds of nature more closely.
The May air was neither too hot nor too cold, making it the perfect time for a walk. I cherished the feeling of the ground beneath my feet.
The gentle slopes make it accessible even for those who don’t usually enjoy walking, and stopping to admire the sunlight filtering through the pine trees was a delightful experience.
Taking the tram to the top and then descending slowly along the flower path is a great tip for those who want to enjoy the park efficiently.
3. The Red Waves of Azaleas in May
During this time, Hongseong Solbaram Theme Park is adorned with blooming azaleas and royal azaleas, painting the entire mountain in vibrant red.
Approximately 600,000 azaleas bloom densely along the walking paths, creating a stunning contrast with the deep green pine trees.
Among the must-visit places in Hongseong, the combination of the extensive flower colonies and the pine forest is truly unique to Solbaram Theme Park.
Walking along the paths surrounded by fully bloomed flowers felt like passing through a tunnel made of blossoms, making me stop frequently to take it all in.
The waves of pink and red flowers swaying like the sea brought me a sense of peace, washing away the clutter of daily thoughts.
4. Encountering Adorable Forest Fairies
As I walked along the paths, I discovered cute animal sculptures hidden under the shade of pine trees and among the flower beds. From panda families to deer, bears, and squirrels, these friendly characters are perfect for kids and great for photos.
The charming decorations make the park a popular spot for couples on dates.
These sculptures are not just for decoration; they harmoniously blend with the surrounding nature, giving the impression of meeting real forest friends.
5. A Sweet Rest with the Scent of Chrysanthemums
After a pleasant walk, I stopped by a large bakery café near the entrance. The aroma of freshly baked bread welcomed me.
I ordered the signature chrysanthemum latte and chrysanthemum rice cake, both showcasing local specialties and delightful flavors.
The subtle scent of chrysanthemum and the gentle sweetness were perfect for replenishing the energy spent during my walk.
This place is a captivating destination that offers new excitement with every visit, welcoming us with different colors and scents each season.
If you want to escape the monotony of daily life and become the protagonist amidst vivid nature, don’t hesitate to head to Hongseong!
