A Joyful Dawn at Goesan 600th Anniversary Park
It was a day I set my alarm early. Hearing about a park created to celebrate the 600th anniversary of the name 'Goesan,' I decided to go watch the sunrise. Arriving at Goesan 600th Anniversary Park around 5:30 AM, I found it to be even quieter than I had expected.
Just before the sun rose, the park was a place where the sound of birds was louder than any human voices. A few people who had arrived earlier were quietly gazing at the eastern sky rather than engaging in conversation.
This silence felt oddly comforting to me. The chirping of the birds served as a gentle background music, and witnessing the sun slowly rise was a strangely warm experience.
One downside was the absence of a designated parking area. I had to park my car somewhere and walk slowly up the hill, which was actually beneficial for me since I usually lack exercise.
The journey to watch the sunrise turned into a light workout. By the time I reached the summit, slightly out of breath, a breathtaking view awaited me as a reward for my efforts.
The Goesan 600th Anniversary Park is more than just a hill with a good view. At the top, there are exercise equipment available, allowing you to stretch lightly after watching the sunrise, and it’s also a great spot for picnics with a mat laid out.
The charm of this park lies in its accessibility; you can come up without elaborate preparations, enjoy some exercise, take in the scenery, and sit down for a moment before heading back down.
This space was created to commemorate the 600th anniversary of the name 'Goesan.' Therefore, reaching the summit evokes a meaning that goes beyond just a viewpoint.
The long history of a region's name overlaps with the daily rising sun, creating a poignant scene.
I sat for a moment at a resting area near the park, eating kimbap I bought from a convenience store, while waiting for the sun to rise slowly.
From the summit, you can see the whole Goesan County at a glance, allowing you to capture unique landscapes in your heart throughout all four seasons.
Although it’s not an extravagant travel course, it’s a great place to stop by when you want to start your day diligently or take a moment to gather your thoughts.
I hope everyone who visits this place, facing the rising sun, has a day filled with good energy.
