▶ Over 90% of hydrangeas are in bloom! Okcheon, a beautiful summer travel destination even in the heat.

When talking about beautiful hydrangea spots in Chungbuk, Okcheon Seedling Park is a must-mention!

I visited Okcheon on July 10 to see the hydrangeas,

and I was curious about their blooming status as of July 30, so I rushed back.

Despite a heat warning at 2 PM,

I can confidently say it was a delightful celebration of hydrangea blossoms.

I seemed to be the only one taking photos of hydrangeas at that scorching hour!

I wanted to share the hydrangea news with everyone, so I took plenty of pictures!

Let's take a look at the hydrangeas at Okcheon Seedling Park together!

Currently, over 90% of the hydrangeas are in bloom.

While some areas are starting to wilt,

other sections showcase hydrangeas blooming in elegant ivory tones, creating a luxurious and beautiful landscape.

Basic Information about Okcheon Seedling Park:

Address: 564-1 Iwon-ri, Iwon-myeon, Okcheon-gun, Chungbuk

There is a parking lot behind the Okcheon Park Management Office.

Next to the management office, there's a dusting station for shoes.

After parking, I first saw the fully bloomed hydrangeas from my visit on July 10.

Some had started to turn brown, but

the delicate ivory and cream-colored hydrangeas were blooming beautifully,

adding a soft and elegant atmosphere to the park.

According to the park officials,

the variety of hydrangeas makes it attractive to see the different stages of blooming and wilting.

While fully bloomed hydrangeas are beautiful, the natural color changes over time also offer a unique charm.

Walking slowly around the park, I felt,

"Okcheon County has truly put in a lot of effort to create this place."

This is not just a park with a few hydrangeas planted.

The entire park is filled with various hydrangea varieties,

and wildflowers blend in beautifully, allowing visitors to truly appreciate the beauty of the seasons.

The park is also surprisingly spacious.

If you take your time exploring, you'll find yourself staying longer than expected,

and you can encounter new scenery no matter which direction you walk.

It's a hydrangea spot worth visiting without needing to travel far.

As you head towards the observation deck,

you'll find shorter hydrangeas,

most of which have now turned ivory, creating a subtle and beautiful view.

Walking around the park in the heat was quite exhausting!

I recommend visiting in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the strong midday sun.

From the observation deck, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the cool surroundings.

If you plan to walk around the entire park, be sure to prepare for your visit:

An umbrella or sunshade,

Ice water or cool drinks,

A hat and sunscreen,

Comfortable sneakers.

Since the park is large and has many areas with little shade,

I strongly recommend visiting early in the morning or later in the afternoon.

Even now, Okcheon Seedling Park is beautiful.

Some hydrangeas have passed their peak and are changing colors,

but it's a special time to appreciate the ivory-hued blooms.

As you walk around the park, you'll see various hydrangea varieties and wildflowers,

and even catch glimpses of passing trains.

If you're looking for a hydrangea spot,

I highly recommend Okcheon Seedling Park.

You can truly feel why Iwon-myeon in Okcheon is known as a hub for seedlings just by exploring the park,

making it a recommended summer travel destination for hydrangea lovers.

Visiting Tips:

Hydrangea Bloom Status: Over 90% (as of July 30)

Recommended Visiting Times: 8-10 AM, after 5 PM

If visiting during the heat, an umbrella and ice water are essential.

The observation deck offers beautiful views in the morning or late afternoon.

Take your time, as your walking time may extend.
