Exploring Susungdae Suspension Bridge in Geochang

After enjoying catching snails in Bukhang Valley, we also stopped by the Susungdae Suspension Bridge.
Located in Susungdae, one of Geochang's most famous scenic spots, the Susungdae Suspension Bridge offers a breathtaking aerial view of the beautiful Wicheon Valley.
At the entrance of the Geochang Susungdae Suspension Bridge, there is a spacious free parking lot, making it convenient for tour buses to park.
There are clean public restrooms available, so it's a good idea to use them before heading up.
Here are the operating hours for the Susungdae Suspension Bridge, where you can take in the cool Wicheon Valley:
✔️ Summer (March to October): 9 AM - 5:50 PM
✔️ Winter (November to February): 9 AM - 4:50 PM
✔️ Closed: Every Wednesday
✔️ Admission: Free
It takes about 5 minutes to walk up the stairs to reach the suspension bridge.
While climbing the stairs, you can reflect on health quotes.
According to the information board, drinking a shot of soju requires climbing 336 stairs to burn the calories, while a glass of makgeolli requires climbing 665 stairs. Therefore, it's best to limit alcohol consumption for your health.
After about 5 minutes of climbing, a large parasol provides shade.
The Susungdae Suspension Bridge is designed to be safe for 1,310 adults weighing 70 kg each.
Opened in November 2022, it is a 240-meter long and 1.5-meter wide cable-stayed bridge without a main tower, connecting only with side supports and steel cables to preserve the natural scenery.
Located about 50 meters above ground, standing on the bridge allows you to enjoy a panoramic view of the clear valley water flowing beneath and the surrounding mountains.
Crossing the Geochang Susungdae Suspension Bridge can be frightening, especially on windy days influenced by typhoons.
You can also see the parking lot below the suspension bridge.
The clear water flowing from the Geochang Wolsung Valley can also be seen from the Susungdae Suspension Bridge.
Views of the Susungdae Auto Camping Site and Wood Experience Center are also visible.
You can drive or walk to Susungdae.
The valley water flowing beneath is breathtaking.
Be careful not to drop your phone between the railings while taking photos.
Those crossing the suspension bridge should also look for the dog rock on the right.
Upon reaching the opposite side of the bridge, there is a comprehensive guide map of Susungdae.
For those looking for hiking trails in Geochang, I took photos of the hiking routes.
The cable-stayed design makes it a great spot for photography.
Even in summer, a cool breeze flows along the valley, making it refreshing on the suspension bridge.
On the way down, I saw a tourist bus from Gwangju, indicating a group trip.
