Songdo Coastal Walkway Revisited

Personally, I believe that the Songdo Coastal Walkway is even better than the coastal trail connecting Oryukdo and Igidae.
However, the walkway has been closed for the past few years.
I heard it would reopen around October or November, and I decided to check it out on December 14, 2025.
🌊 The Grand Reopening: Songdo Coastal Walkway
- Long-Awaited Return: After years of closure, the scenic walkway officially reopened in late 2025, offering a beautifully maintained path between Songdo Beach and Amnam Park.
- Breathtaking Scenery: Experience a unique trek featuring geologic wonders like dinosaur footprints, the picturesque Turtle Island Cloud Walkway, and stunning winter ocean vistas.
- Plan Your Visit: A leisurely one-way walk takes about 20-30 minutes (09:00 - 17:00). Don't miss the Songdo Yonggung Cloud Bridge and the charming whale sculptures along the way!

Walking Route Overview
After a long time, I am sharing today's walking route via the map.
Please refer to the map.
I've uploaded a video of today's walk on YouTube. Although it may not be exciting, I would appreciate your likes and subscriptions!
Starting the Walk
08:54 - I started from Jungang-dong and took bus number 26.
09:09 - I got off at the Songdo Amnam-dong Administrative Welfare Center stop.
The bus I took is heading away.
I waited at the crosswalk, and while crossing, I narrowly avoided a car that ignored the signal.
Turtle Island and Songdo Beach
09:14 - I passed through the Songdo Alley Food Town. The places that always catch my eye are the mackerel bread and Pub Big Booz No. 2.
Having arrived here, I decided to visit Turtle Island first.
Crossing the street, I present the winter scenery of Songdo Beach.
09:20 - I started walking the Turtle Walkway. This is a notable diving spot in Songdo Beach.
The Turtle Island is quite picturesque.
Here is the view from the cloud walkway, though it appears dark due to backlighting.
09:28 - I reached the end and enjoyed the scenery of boats waiting at the anchorage.
I realized that the lighthouse below resembles a turtle.
09:35 - I set off again and passed by the Turtle Island sculpture, which features information about Turtle Islands in Korea.
09:40 - I showed the path I had walked so far.
After exploring Turtle Island, I walked towards Songdo Beach.
09:47 - I strolled along the beach, enjoying the beautiful sea view of Songdo Beach.
09:56 - I took a distance shot at location 7. While I didn't see anything particularly special about Songdo Beach, it's definitely a place worth visiting without worrying about inflated prices.
Songdo Coastal Walkway
10:11 - Finally, I arrived at the Songdo Coastal Walkway!
It has been years since it was open!
I climbed the iron stairs ahead.
There are various types of rocks along the way, including dinosaur footprints.
The walkway is well-maintained, making it easy to walk.

Viewpoints and Amnam Park
10:17 - I reached a viewpoint and enjoyed the scenery.
As I walked to the next location, I noticed the beautiful reflections on the water, though capturing it was challenging.
10:38 - I arrived at Amnam Park. It took about 27 minutes to get here from the entrance.
Finally, I made my way back towards Songdo Beach, enjoying the coastal walkway.
As I approached Songdo Beach, I noticed a significant number of whale sculptures.
On my way back, I did not head towards the beach.

Wrapping Up
11:49 - I wrapped up my trip by taking the bus to Nampo-dong.
It took about 2 hours and 40 minutes, but I believe the coastal walkway can be completed in about 20 minutes one way.
I recommend visiting the Songdo Yonggung Cloud Bridge as well!
