Exploring Jinju Through Caricatures

Jinju Cultural Production Center presents "Jinju, People - Captured Through Caricatures"
Honest review of the exhibition by artist Kim Sung-joo (@soonsak_draw)
I recently visited the exhibition that allows you to meet the people and stories of Jinju in a unique way.
Kim Sung-joo, a local artist born and raised in Jinju, has captured the faces and stories of neighbors encountered in the alleys and streets through caricatures, four-panel comics, interviews, and videos!
The exhibition features expressions and daily lives of the "people of Jinju" that we often pass by without a second thought, making it enjoyable to explore each piece slowly.
In addition to caricature artworks and four-panel comics, there are interviews and video archives, as well as live caricatures drawn by the artist and a collaborative "face drawing guestbook" completed by visitors.
This experience highlighted how each person living an ordinary life can become part of the story of Jinju and play a special role in shaping the city.
The exhibition beautifully captures the warm moments found in the serendipitous encounters between people and the essence of Jinju.
