Exploring Jincheon 2nd Neighborhood Park: A Hidden Gem for Relaxation

If you're looking for a quiet place to relax without traveling far, Jincheon 2nd Neighborhood Park in Jincheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do is a wonderful option.
It’s close to the city yet offers a chance to connect with nature, making it a popular spot for residents to stroll and for families to enjoy outings.
The park has recently been developed, featuring a clean parking lot and restrooms.
Located just about 700 meters from Jincheon County Hall, it’s an easy walk for a light stroll.
Upon arriving at Jincheon 2nd Neighborhood Park, I was surprised by its large size.
Since this is a public space, actions like littering, smoking, and causing disturbances to others are prohibited.
At the entrance, there’s a fountain, but please note that both vehicles and pets are not allowed.
It’s also important not to throw gravel into the fountain's spout, and simply looking at it can be dangerous.
The ground fountain operates only during the summer months. Last year, it was active twice daily for the month of August, from 12 PM to 1 PM and again from 2 PM to 3 PM.
The children's playground features two main themes, which I believe the kids will love.
Notably, the spaceship-shaped playground is of good quality and has a cushioned surface to prevent injuries from falls.
After passing the picnic area, I found a photo zone on the observation deck, perfect for capturing memories.
Jincheon 2nd Neighborhood Park allows dogs, but you must bring a leash and waste bags.
Upon reaching the rose garden, I saw the park's name alongside blooming roses. Although May is the peak season for roses, there are still many paths to enjoy a pleasant walk.
At the far end, you’ll arrive at the earthen plaza, where a well-maintained earthen path awaits.
This earthen path is beneficial for detoxifying harmful toxins and impurities, and it can also alleviate symptoms of atopic dermatitis.
Pets are not allowed on the earthen path, and since it’s a barefoot experience, it’s best to avoid it if you have athlete's foot or foot injuries.
In the rock garden, there are hydrangeas that change color throughout the seasons, starting with a lime green in early summer, turning white in mid-summer, and shifting to a pinkish-brown in autumn.
Jincheon 2nd Neighborhood Park is a great place to take a leisurely stroll and enjoy some time away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The lush nature, well-maintained walking paths, and comfortable relaxation areas offer a small healing experience in daily life. If you visit Jincheon, while busy tourist spots are nice, spending some relaxed time at Jincheon 2nd Neighborhood Park will surely lighten your body and mind.
