Located in Chungcheongnam-do, Buyeo is home to the Jeongnimsa Site Museum, a must-visit historical experience for families with children.

Opened in September 2006, the museum offers more than just viewing artifacts; it provides various interactive experiences that make it enjoyable for kids.

The first exhibition hall, Jeongnimsa Hall, showcases the significance and value of Jeongnimsa, which was at the center of the prosperous Baekje kingdom, using advanced technology.

One of the first artifacts you will encounter is an inscribed roof tile that reads 'Taepyeong 8th year, Mu-jin, Jeongnimsa Daejangdangcho,' indicating that it was referred to as Jeongnimsa during the 19th year of Goryeo's Hyunjong.

Inside the 'Jeongnimsa Infinity Room,' visitors can explore artifacts excavated from Jeongnimsa in an infinitely expansive space. Augmented Reality (AR) content provides detailed information about the artifacts, and a complex lighting show enhances the experience.

The museum features projection videos of excavation reports from five significant years of excavations that have occurred since 1915, displayed on a wing-shaped screen.

In front of the display case showcasing a miniature model of the five-story stone pagoda, a projector displays videos that layer information about the construction process and proportions of the pagoda.

A highlight of the museum is the restoration model of Jeongnimsa, where beautiful seasonal mapping videos can be enjoyed. Additionally, AR content allows children to learn various facts about Jeongnimsa and play mini-games that are quite popular among kids.

The bridge connecting the first and second exhibition halls features media art that embodies the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss with lotus flowers.

The second exhibition hall, the Baekje Buddhism History Hall, presents the splendid history of Baekje Buddhism through immersive digital content. Visitors can watch a dialogue-style video showcasing the achievements of six kings of the Baekje kingdom during the Sabi period and their thoughts on Buddhism.

Ascending the stairs in the second exhibition hall leads to a special exhibition on 'Buyeo's Peddlers.' Peddlers are known to have existed during the Three Kingdoms period, selling goods while traveling markets. The song 'Jeongeupsa,' thought to be from the old Baekje region, tells the story of a wife anxiously waiting for her husband to return safely from his travels.

The exhibited artifacts from the peddlers provide insights into the formation and transformation of their organization, as well as their customs and practices, holding significant historical and academic value.

Lastly, there is an interactive area where visitors can learn about the layout of Baekje's temples, which varies by era and sect. Visitors can enjoy an engaging experience by selecting cards and arranging the buildings themselves.

The central hall of the Jeongnimsa Site Museum offers a fun scratch experience where visitors can create their own artwork, making for a great souvenir from their visit.

Beyond the central hall, visitors can find the museum shop featuring major Baekje cultural artifacts, including the National Treasure designated Baekje gold and bronze incense burner, the gilt-bronze Maitreya Bodhisattva statue, and the five-story stone pagoda. There is also a cafeteria where guests can relax and read.

The Jeongnimsa Site Museum is not just a place to view artifacts; it is a space where families can learn about Baekje culture and architecture through various interactive activities. If you are planning a trip to Buyeo, be sure to visit the Jeongnimsa Site Museum.
