Every time I visit Taean, I am drawn to the tall red pines, so I decided to visit the Anmyeondo Natural Recreation Forest once again.

Each visit reminds me how the beauty of the Anmyeon Pine invigorates my spirit.

Today, I turned my footsteps toward the arboretum across the road.

The path to the arboretum is designed as an accessible forest trail, welcoming us with clapping pines on both sides.

The Anmyeon pine is known for its straight trunk and high umbrella-shaped canopy, making it not only beautiful but also sturdier than pines from other regions.

Historically, the Anmyeon pine has been valued for its quality wood, used during the Joseon Dynasty for constructing buildings and furniture.

As a result, Chungcheongnam-do has managed the Anmyeon pine forest as a "Pine Genetic Resource Protection Area" since 1978, and it has been designated as a "National Forest Cultural Asset" since 2019 for more careful preservation.

The Anmyeondo Arboretum is divided into various sections such as a natural ecology area, a four-season garden, a children's experience area, and a rare plant garden. Each season brings different flowers, from tulips and azaleas in spring to lilies and hydrangeas in summer, and chrysanthemums and autumn leaves in winter, ensuring a delightful stroll at any time of the year.

The garden features a patchwork of colorful flower beds, promising a different floral display with each season. People find joy in the flowers, often feeling a sense of peace and healing.

Under a large crape myrtle tree, a pink bench beckons like a picturesque scene. It seems an ideal spot for couples to sit and enjoy a romantic moment or capture beautiful photographs.

As the saying goes, "No flower lasts for ten days," yet the crape myrtle blooms for over three months after spring flowers fade.

While walking, I couldn't help but take a photo of the climbing ivy and red flowers beautifully draped over a tiled wall. Does anyone else feel a sense of tranquility, as if visiting a rural home, when seeing such a scene?

The Asanwon Garden was created to honor the late Chung Ju-yung, honorary chairman of Hyundai Group, during the 2002 Anmyeondo International Flower Expo. It showcases traditional Korean gardens to foreign visitors.

Named after Chung Ju-yung's pen name, "Asanwon," this garden incorporates traditional Korean styles, allowing visitors to appreciate various trees and flowers in a serene natural setting.

Another unique feature is the Celadon Embroidery Garden, designed to resemble buried celadon pottery with flowers planted in colors that mimic celadon patterns. This concept was inspired by Professor Lee O-young.

Peonies, which are just beginning to bud, can also be seen. They bloom around May, producing large flowers with a strong fragrance. The peony symbolizes "shyness" and "embarrassment," while being referred to as the "king of flowers" in Korea.

As I strolled through the arboretum, I encountered sculptures of birds and a wisteria flower tunnel, which added to the charm of the well-maintained space. It feels like a perfect place for families or couples to visit.

There is also a children's forest experience area and an indoor plant exhibition showcasing tropical plants. Walking paths lead to a deck trail towards the mountains and offer views of the beautiful coastal park.

The arboretum has many spots for taking photos, where red flowers, yellow benches, and green grass create a vibrant scene, inviting passersby to capture the moment.

The guardians of the Anmyeondo Arboretum greet visitors with warm smiles. These traditional Korean statues serve as protectors of the arboretum, warding off misfortune.
