Escape the City at Sincheok Reservoir in Jincheon

Looking for a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, a place where you can connect with nature in Jincheon? Look no further! Today, I'm excited to introduce Sincheok Reservoir, a perfect spot for a peaceful stroll along its waterfront deck!
Sincheok Reservoir is easily accessible near the Sincheok Industrial Complex Children's Park. Simply search for Sincheok-ri 960 to find your way.
The Children's Park offers simple playground equipment like slides, clean public restrooms, and rest areas. There's even a convenience store nearby, making it convenient to grab snacks!
A well-maintained path leads from the Children's Park down to the reservoir. Unlike some places where overgrown grass makes walking impossible, the area around Sincheok Reservoir is neatly kept.
As you approach the reservoir, you'll see a long waterfront deck stretching across the water. The path is completely flat, making it accessible for everyone, from children to the elderly.
While it can get very hot and challenging to visit in the summer due to the lack of shade, the weather in October and November is perfect. Plus, the bugs and mosquitoes that are common in the summer are gone, making for a more pleasant walk.
This reservoir is also known for its vast lotus flower fields, but with the colder weather, the lotus leaves and flowers have withered. It must be beautiful to see the lush greenery in the summer.
Near Sincheok Reservoir, you'll find cafes with stunning views, perfect for enjoying coffee and dessert after your walk. It's a great spot for a relaxing date!
There's even a device within the reservoir area that displays the temperature and humidity. It was 21 degrees Celsius, and felt rather chilly since it was a cloudy day. The humidity was 70%, which is a bit high, but it didn't feel particularly humid after the rain and cold weather.
The deck features well-placed pavilions where you can sit and relax in the shade. There are also recycling bins, which is convenient if you bring snacks!
Although the scenery was a bit lacking on the cloudy day I visited, the expansive view makes it a fantastic place to watch the sunset. I'll have to come back to see the sunset sometime.
After walking along the waterfront deck, a path leads up to a long, lush metasequoia tree-lined road. It's incredibly scenic, and the autumn foliage will make it even more charming when the leaves turn yellow and red.
The weather these days is perfect for outdoor walks and outings. If you're looking for a peaceful and quiet place to stroll, enjoy coffee at a cafe with a view, and spend some leisurely time, be sure to visit Sincheok Reservoir in Jincheon!
