Discovering the Hidden Gem of Guam Reservoir in Jincheon

Today, I would like to introduce the beautiful Guam Reservoir in Jincheon, a perfect spot for a peaceful walk amidst nature.
I recently visited the Guam Reservoir, which has a new walking trail that offers a quiet and serene environment for strolling.
There is no dedicated parking lot, so visitors must park along the roadside. It is located about 15 minutes from Jincheon County Office; you can search for 4-11 Hwaejuk-ri, Gwanghye-won-myeon, Jincheon-gun, Chungbuk.
Guam Reservoir is still a hidden gem, not widely known to many. In spring, it blooms with cherry blossoms, creating a truly stunning view.
Even in summer, the picturesque scenery of the reservoir attracts many locals who come to walk or exercise, making it a beloved spot in the community.
There are benches along the roadside where you can take a break and enjoy the view of the reservoir. Although the benches are a bit old, they are well-maintained, and I often stop by to rest for a while.
To reach the Guam walking trail, you need to walk along the dam path, where you can enjoy a refreshing view of the reservoir.
This reservoir has been supplying agricultural water to the region for a long time and is also known as Musu Reservoir or Daetgol Reservoir.
Upon my visit, I noticed the water level was quite low, possibly due to the ongoing drought, despite it being the rainy season. I hope it returns to its former state soon.
At the end of the dam path, there is a deck staircase leading down to the village, along with an observation deck.
The view from the observation deck was breathtaking, offering an unobstructed panorama of the landscape.
Just below the deck stairs, there is a small open area where about three to four cars can park, and I noticed quite a few people coming to fish.
The Guam walking trail begins by going down to the path next to the reservoir. Since it was recently developed, there are some areas that could use improvement, but I hope they will enhance it over time.
The trail allows visitors to enjoy the reservoir up close, and it is an easy walk for everyone.
On calm days, the surrounding mountains and sky reflect beautifully in the water, making you feel as if you are looking at a picturesque painting.
Construction was underway at the end of the reservoir for further trail development.
The Guam walking trail is only about 400 meters long, so a round trip takes about 20 minutes.
At the end of the trail, there is another entrance connecting to the Jincheon Athlete's Village, making it even more convenient to visit.
The deck is spacious, perfect for taking a moment to relax while enjoying the gentle breeze, providing a healing experience.
I look forward to visiting again in spring when the cherry blossoms bloom and in autumn when the leaves change color, to see what new scenery unfolds.
This weekend, I encourage you to escape the bustling city and take some time to experience the tranquility of Guam Reservoir and its walking trail in Jincheon.
