San 47, Igilli, Dongsong-eup, Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do

As the crisp air brushes past your nose, we invite you on a journey through the Cheorwon DMZ, a historical exploration promising a vision of peace for tomorrow!
Cheorwon DMZ, a symbol of division and a beacon of hope for peace. Shall we trace the painful history of the Korean Peninsula and follow the path towards peace?
The 2nd Infiltration Tunnel
Address: San 47, Igilli, Dongsong-eup, Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do
Discovered in 1975, the 2nd Infiltration Tunnel is a prime example of a security tourism site where you can experience the reality of the division between North and South Korea up close.
Walking through the dark tunnel that leads underground, you can feel the tension and appreciate the precious value of peace.
Guided tours are available where you can experience the interior firsthand. We recommend exploring after wearing safety gear!
Cheorwon Peace Observatory
Address: 588-14, Junggang-ri, Dongsong-eup, Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do
At the Cheorwon Peace Observatory, you can glimpse North Korean villages and outposts, and the vast grasslands of the DMZ, all through a telescope.
The scenery changes with the light of day, conveying the weight of time that has stood still for so long.
On clear days, you can even faintly see the peaks of Geumgangsan Mountain in the distance.
Labor Party Headquarters
Address: 265, Geumgangsan-ro, Cheorwon-eup, Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do
The Labor Party Headquarters, a red brick building that bears the scars of war. The bullet marks remain as a reminder of the past pain, but now this place is being reborn as a space for peace and art.
The interior exhibitions and the exterior space are popular photo spots!
Take time to reflect on the meaning of the 'peace' we enjoy today as you walk along the traces of the past.
Come and paint your own picture of 'tomorrow's peace' on the DMZ historical exploration course in Cheorwon.
