Discovering Jincheon Manroesan Nature Ecological Park

Today, I would like to introduce you to the best wellness and well-being space that Jincheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, proudly boasts: the hidden paradise for families that will refresh you from the upcoming summer heat, the 'Jincheon Manroesan Nature Ecological Park'.
This park is an eco-friendly resting space that preserves the natural vegetation without damaging the beautiful scenery of Manroesan.
Manroesan, the spiritual mountain of Jincheon, is the most representative mountain in Jincheon, located in Baekgok-myeon and Munbaek-myeon.
With its mystical name meaning 'a mountain where myriad sounds resonate', Manroesan has been a wonderful habitat for various flora and fauna due to its beautiful mountain range and dense forests.
Historically, Manroesan holds significant importance as well. There used to be a mountain fortress that served as a military stronghold during the Goryeo and Joseon Dynasties, and tales and relics related to General Kim Yushin from the Three Kingdoms period are found throughout the slopes of Manroesan.
For the residents of Jincheon, Manroesan is a sacred mountain.
During the summer and autumn, one of the main concerns while walking on outdoor forest paths is pests like mosquitoes and ticks. Even the most beautiful scenery can be hard to enjoy when you're worried about bugs.
Upon entering the park, visitors will notice the 'automatic insect repellent dispenser' installed for their convenience. A light spray on your clothes and shoes before starting your walk helps keep pests at bay, allowing you to stroll through the forest with peace of mind.
At the park entrance and around the grassy plaza, various outdoor exercise equipment is neatly arranged. From stretching equipment for light warm-ups to machines for strength training, the variety is impressive and well-maintained.
Exercising while inhaling fresh phytoncides and gazing at the green trees provides a refreshing experience that cannot be compared to working out indoors.
As you walk a little deeper into the park, a small ecological pond unfolds before you like a watercolor painting. Water lilies and various aquatic plants flourish above the pond, while a large wooden waterwheel spins continuously, creating a charming sound.
The sound of the waterwheel, splashing rhythmically, acts as a natural white noise that refreshes your ears. Standing by the pond and quietly gazing at the water offers the perfect healing spot.
As you transition from the pond to the main walking trail, well-maintained paths guide your way. The trail gently follows the natural terrain, with lush trees creating a green tunnel that pleasantly blocks the harsh summer sun.
One of the park's charms is that there's no need to rush. Along the walking path, cozy wooden benches and serene pavilions are scattered throughout the forest, inviting you to take a break.
When your legs start to feel tired, sitting in a pavilion with a refreshing drink from your tumbler while enjoying the green landscape of Manroesan brings happiness in itself.
Listening to the sound of the wind rustling the branches and the chirping of unknown mountain birds while resting is perhaps the greatest gift.
This July and August, there is a compelling reason to visit the Jincheon Manroesan Nature Ecological Park: the long-awaited 'Children's Outdoor Water Play Area' will finally open.
Operating Period: July 18, 2026 (Saturday) to August 17, 2026 (Monday)
Usage Fee: Completely free (operated at no cost)
Target Audience: Toddlers and elementary school children (children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian)
The water play area, which will operate for a month from late July to mid-August, is the perfect place to escape the heat while splashing around in the clean forest environment.
Best of all, since it is 'free' to use, families can visit multiple times without worrying about expenses. Jincheon-gun plans to ensure a safe environment with thorough water quality management and safety personnel, given that it is a facility for children.
From the thoughtful installation of insect repellent dispensers at the entrance to the health-promoting exercise facilities, the refreshing sounds of the waterwheel and pond, as well as the cozy pavilions and wooden benches in the forest, all contribute to providing visitors with a complete 'rest'.
With the opening of the free children's water play area from July 18 to August 17, there’s no need to travel far for a summer getaway; you can enjoy your time at Jincheon Manroesan Nature Ecological Park.
