As soon as I entered the museum, I was greeted by an adorable cheese cat. The sight of the cat lazily basking in the sun felt like it was the true owner of this space, instantly warming my heart.
After exchanging a brief greeting with the cat, I turned my head to see a spacious, green lawn perfect for children to play freely. On a beautiful day like today, there’s no better place to enjoy nature and take photos with your kids on the lush grass.
Next to the museum, there's a charming little garden, ideal for a leisurely stroll to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and find some healing.
One particularly eye-catching feature was a unique artwork installed on the outdoor wall, depicting a smartphone embedded in the wall. Seeing this essential item of modern life transformed into a piece of art seemed to convey the artist's message to momentarily step away from the digital world and focus on the present scenery.
Now, let’s step inside the art museum. Currently, the museum is hosting a solo exhibition by artist Jo Cheon-hwi. Upon entering the exhibition hall, we are welcomed by the artist's 'Artist's Note,' filled with deep reflections.
The artist describes the wind, often referred to as the flow of air, as 'season.' He emphasizes the importance of remembering and cherishing the ordinary moments of life with fresh sensations and scents.
As I appreciate the works reflecting the artist's confession that living each day to the fullest is the essence of life, I find myself reflecting on my own time spent.
This exhibition feels like a record of the artist's intense life and a warm comfort extended to all of us in our daily routines.
Another charm of the Sunsung Art Museum is its 'unmanned system' operation, allowing visitors to enjoy a personal dialogue with the artwork without worrying about others' gazes.
The admission fee is a very reasonable 2,000 won for adults and 1,000 won for children, making it accessible. You can simply transfer the fee to the designated account on-site, making it quite convenient.
