With the unusually frequent autumn rains, we needed indoor attractions for our trip. Aqua Planet in Seogwipo offered a memorable experience for our family. It's a place where adults and children alike can enjoy themselves without realizing how much time has passed. If you're planning a trip to Jeju Island in November with your family, this is an excellent choice.

Aqua Planet is a great place to spend time indoors comfortably, making it a perfect alternative for rainy or cloudy days in Seogwipo, Jeju.

✔ Parking: Available

✔ Admission Fee: Varies by package (Discounts available when booking through Naver)

✔ Estimated Visit Duration: Approximately 2 hours or more

Our Jeju Island trip was mainly focused on the eastern Seongsan-eup area, and Aqua Planet's central location made it easy to plan our itinerary. It's definitely a worthwhile attraction in Jeju.

Everything from indoor exhibitions to performances is available, making it even more satisfying. You can enjoy delicious food in the spacious and clean food court, and the view from the large windows offers a refreshing panorama of the blue sea and the iconic Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak).

2. A Fun Space for Children

As we entered, we were greeted by cute character photo zones, which delighted our family. Matching the preferences of children can be challenging, but those worries disappeared here.

The kids were excited to take pictures with the characters even before entering. Inside, there are feeding experiences and stamp tours that spark curiosity, which was a great feature.

3. Diverse Ocean Arena Experience

Before embarking on an adventure through the large aquarium, we decided to watch a performance first. Since the performances are held four times a day, missing the timing could mean a long wait or even missing the show altogether. So, we hurried to the arena.

We arrived about 5 minutes after the performance had started. Although we missed a bit at the beginning, we still felt it was better to watch the performance first.

The actors were putting on a passionate musical performance. Even though we didn't sit in the front row, the view was good from anywhere, so we just chose a spot and sat down.

The most impressive part of the performance was the actors' fantastic diving show.

They climbed to dizzying heights and performed spectacular dives, eliciting exclamations from the audience.

Don't miss the charming performance by the sea lion, Chico. His adorable antics, despite his large size, are still vivid in my memory.

Towards the end of the show, the actors came down into the audience, giving high-fives and waving to the children, creating a memorable experience.

Performance Times:

✔ 1st show: 10:50 AM

✔ 2nd show: 12:50 PM

✔ 3rd show: 2:50 PM

✔ 4th show: 4:20 PM

The Ocean Arena performance is held four times a day, so be sure to check the schedule and catch a show.

4. An Adventure into the Sea

After the spectacular performance, we returned to the entrance and began exploring the indoor aquarium. The first marine animal we encountered was a seal. It looked like it was sleeping, or maybe not, with its eyes slightly open, drawing crowds of people admiring its cuteness.

Next, we saw penguins waddling around with their cute movements. We were lucky enough to catch the feeding time, so we got to see the penguins diving.

Inside, there's a spot where you can peek your head out and observe the penguins up close, creating a great memory for children.

We also met adorable otters. Since otters are nocturnal, they were mostly sleeping when we visited last time, which was a bit disappointing.

But this time, they were very active! They were being playful with the visitors and seemed quite busy.

One of the highlights of Seogwipo, Jeju, is the massive shark.

It's hard to believe the size until you see it in person. Getting a close look at its enormous size and sharp teeth was a thrilling experience.

In the same space, huge rays were swimming gracefully. Rays are my favorite marine animals at the Jeju Aquarium :)

The rays are quite playful, often swimming close as if to bump into you, and their faces seem to be smiling. It always makes me feel happy to see them.

5. Haenyeo (Female Diver) Special Exhibition

After exploring the aquarium, we headed to the special exhibition hall. The special exhibition hall always offers something new and interesting.

This exhibition tells the story of Jeju's haenyeo in an engaging way.

It portrays the tough lives of Jeju's haenyeo in a fun and interesting manner. There are detailed paintings and photos capturing the expressions of the haenyeo, as well as displays of the tools they used for diving. It was an educational and engaging experience.

Spending nearly three hours here, Aqua Planet Jeju in Seogwipo was a source of happiness for our family. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for indoor activities or family fun during their upcoming November trip to Jeju Island.
