Hello,
This is Jangheung Travel.
Today, we'd like to introduce Jangheung Hanjae Park, home to the largest colony of pasqueflowers in Korea!
Hanjae Park, situated on a hill overlooking the refreshing Deungnyang Bay, spans approximately 100,000 square meters. It was once a mountain pass between Mt. Geunjaesan and Mt. Hanjaesan, stretching long from north to south.
As a frequently traversed path, its traces are naturally embedded in novels like 'Donghakje, the Sea Boiling and Overflowing,' making it a place steeped in history and life's footprints.
Every year, from mid-March to late April, pasqueflowers bloom here, adding an extra layer of charm to the entire park.
As the name suggests, the pasqueflower is derived from the white hairs resembling an old woman's white hair and the bent shape of the flower stalk, reminiscent of a hunched back.
The purplish petals visible between the white downy hairs are particularly beautiful, making it a beloved symbol of spring for visitors to Hanjae Park.
At the park entrance, a sculpture of a pasqueflower is located, blending well with the natural scenery and further enhancing the atmosphere of Hanjae Park.
Throughout Hanjae Park, you'll find tombstones engraved with poems by writer Han Seung-won, adding a touch of literary sensibility to the backdrop of the sea and hills. It's a great place to pause and savor a verse or two while strolling along the trails.
There are also pavilions and benches where you can relax and enjoy the scenery.
A place where beautiful nature and literature meet: Jangheung Hanjae Park.
It's also part of the Namparang Trail's Jangheung Course 79, so we highly recommend a visit.
