Chasing the Last Summer Beach Vibes: A Day Trip to Gunsan and Camping in My Car!

Venturing to Gunsan for a car camping trip, aiming to catch the last of the summer beach vibes!
I couldn't capture many photos at night, so I'm trying my best to describe everything in detail!
Gunsan Car Camping Itinerary
Day 1: (Seocheon) > Lee Sung Dang Bakery > Gunsan The Sauna > Travel to Seonyudo Island > Car Camping!
Day 2: Seonyudo Beach > Travel to Munyeodo Island > Munyeo 2-gu Bus Cafe (Lunch)
Gunsan The Sauna
Address: Gunsan-si, Naun 2-gil, 5 / Hours: 05:00 ~ 22:00
When car camping, I usually like to shower at a nearby bathhouse or sauna before heading to the camping spot.
There wasn't a decent place near Seonyudo Island, so we decided to shower and then head over.
Finding a place that's reasonably clean and open late is surprisingly rare...it's like they disappear when you need them! Agree?
After searching diligently, I found Gunsan The Sauna.
Admission is 10,000 won for adults, and I was satisfied with the clean facilities and spaciousness.
There's also a parking lot, although it's not very large!
I finished showering and cleansing at the sauna, so all I had to do at the car camping site was a quick face wash and teeth brushing.
Perfectly ready for bed! bㅋㅋㅋ
While buying bread at Lee Sung Dang Bakery, I cooled off with their famous milkshakes, a perfect refreshment for a hot day, and then headed to Seonyudo Island.
Before going to the island, I bought ice cups, water, and other necessities at a convenience store.
Things on islands are usually more expensive.
Seonyudo Breakwater
Address: Gunsan-si, Okdo-myeon, Seonyudo-ri, 474-1
It's quite dark at night...driving is a bit scary.
There are tons of people fishing on the way to Seonyudo Island.
I recommend Seonyudo Breakwater, a popular car camping spot in Gunsan!
When car camping, the availability of a restroom is super important! Seonyudo has one nearby.
The restroom is close and pretty decent for being an open-style one.
It's only a 1-2 minute walk from the breakwater!
At first, I couldn't find the restroom because it was dark at night.
You can just search for Seonyudo Fishing Village on the GPS. (Gunsan-si, Okdo-myeon, Seonyudo 3-gil, 33-4).
There's parking and the restroom is located there!
The view is better on the breakwater side, but the morning sun can be intense, so parking in the parking lot might be better.
Enjoying Lee Sung Dang bread while watching the trendy K-Pop Demon Hunters~~
K-Pop Demon Hunters is full of cheesy clichés, but the songs are good, so I'm hooked...
Personally, I prefer the red bean bread over the vegetable bread at Lee Sung Dang Bakery.
And the black sesame bread is a must! It's so delicious!
Seonyudo Beach
Address: Gunsan-si, Okdo-myeon, Seonyudo-ri, 115-1 / Open from July 9th to August 17th
Search for "Seonyudo tide chart" on Naver to check the low and high tides!
High tide is around 7 AM, and low tide is around 2 PM, so I had to play in the morning!!, but that didn't happen.
Still, I had fun from 10 AM onwards.
I could see the tide going out in real-time while playing in the water. LOL
The water isn't very deep, so there were more kids than adults.
Perfect for my kid-level swimming skills.
Seonyudo Beach offers free parasol/life jacket rentals.
The showers cost 500 won (coins required, no change machine).
You can rent life jackets for free if needed.
But...we're aiming to be car camping + water play masters, so we already have life jackets, aqua shoes, and goggles. Heh heh.
Parking at Seonyudo Beach can be tricky, so it's best to park in the public parking lot.
You should play quickly in the morning and get out of there around lunchtime.
When we were leaving, cars kept coming in, and it looked like a mess.
Car camping is awesome!
Munyeo 2-gu Village Bus Cafe
Address: Gunsan-si, Okdo-myeon, Munyeodo-ri, San 10-22 / Hours: 09:00 ~ 19:30(20:00)
So, we quickly escaped and arrived at Munyeodo Island!
It seems to be popular because a Mukbang YouTuber visited!
However, the view is insane........
There's a reason why the prices are high.......
There are colorful buses on a very large lot, and you can eat hamburgers here.
You order at the kiosk and pick up your order when your number is called.
It can be quite crowded on weekends, so you need to grab a seat on the bus quickly!
But there wasn't a wait to order.
We ordered two hamburgers, sotteok-sotteok (rice cake and sausage skewers), iced Americanos, cola, butter-grilled squid, and fries.
Of course, I paid for it all!
I ordered the Hamji set, which is for two people.
The price is still a bit expensive, but...
The vibes are crazy awesome~~
The hamburger costs 20,000 won, and the ocean view from inside the bus costs 20,000 won~~ (Makes sense)
I would have been so annoyed if the hamburger was bad, but it had a thick patty, butter-grilled bun, fresh lettuce, tomato, and homemade pickles! (Makes sense 22222)
The hamburger isn't mind-blowingly delicious, but it's pretty substantial.
The butter-grilled squid is delicious, though.
It's addicting.
Since it was low tide, we were able to walk to Jwittong Island, so we decided to take a walk there.
The name of Munyeodo comes from the fact that the island's shape resembles a shaman dancing with a drum and wine cup.
That's the story.
We walked a bit further and checked out Munyeo 2-gu Port.
The weather was great, the ocean was beautiful, and I was happy because I was full~
Munyeo 2-gu Port
I was told they would take nice photos...
It's even more beautiful in person, and it's a shame that the photos don't capture it all!
It was really hot, but it would be great to just chill and stare at the water while watching the sunlight sparkling on the surface of the water!
Munyeodo Island is about a 10-minute drive from Seonyudo Island, so it was nice to visit both.
