As the hot season passes, we find ourselves under a clear, high sky, welcoming the refreshing breeze of autumn.
At this time of year, I often think of outdoor walking paths where one can slowly enjoy the changing seasons.
Today, I would like to introduce two autumn outing spots in Yesan County.
Yesan Eco Waterway
The first spot is the Yesan Eco Waterway.
Under the open autumn sky, the calm waterway and trees adorned with seasonal colors create a perfect space for a comfortable stroll with anyone.
Along the walking path, there are various sensory resting spots for visitors. You can take a break from the autumn sun under a round shaded bench resembling an umbrella, or enjoy conversations at a two-story circular shelter while overlooking the surrounding scenery.
From the bridge over the waterway, you can admire clusters of aquatic plants sprouting round leaves on the tranquil surface, and at the end of the lush path, you will encounter large fish sculptures that seem to swim energetically, adding a touch of fun to your walk.
Uijoin Brothers Park
If you’ve enjoyed nature at the Yesan Eco Waterway, take a short walk to the nearby Uijoin Brothers Park.
This park is located in Daehung-myeon, the actual setting of the well-known folktale “The Uijoin Brothers,” where you can feel the warm-hearted spirit of the brothers who cared for one another.
At the entrance of the park square, a sculpture depicting the silhouettes of the brothers carrying bundles for each other welcomes visitors.
Beyond that, you can find a tranquil thatched house and various sculptures that recreate the charming atmosphere of an old rural village.
As you walk along the peaceful path shaded by trees, I recommend spending a warm-hearted time with family or a loved one.
